Default joe barbera dead

please, please, no one come on here and ask 'who?' as a lover of cartoons, i immediately knew when i saw the headline that the surviving member of the hanna-barbera partnership had passed away. this animating duo brought us tom and jerry, the flintstones and the jetsons--just to name a few.

my condolences to his family.

he and his partner created some of my favorite childhood cartoons. I'm glad he at least lived a long full life and died in the company of loved ones. He lives on through his work.

An amazing legacy of great cartoon art.. The Flintstones, Jetsons and Johnny Quest were my absolute favorites growing up.. Cosmo Spacely and Race Bannon being two particularly favorite characters, and "T.C." (Top Cat) another classic..

I believe The Jetsons was the first (1968?) broadcast ever in color on television...

Some interesting background on color tv from Wiki.. NBC had the connection to RCA early and was into color way before we think of color television...

Actual "first"? Good ol' Kukla, Fran & Ollie!! (Flintstones/Jetsons were the first things broadcast in color by ABC (1962)...
