Default Best Performance of the Century

Being only the beginning of 2007 this is very premature...

To me Greatness is defined by more than raw talent streaking to the wire through very few starts...it's doing what is now becoming unimaginable...winning season after season, at different distances and tracks, carrying weight and still leaving your classy opponents in the dust.

So thou shalt not use the word Great, but what single performance was jaw dropping, scintillating and awe worthy in our current Century?

If 2000 counts ( maybe it was 2001 )....Dubai Millenium in the World Cup.

I would say that while it may not be the "best" in terms of numbers or explosiveness, that very few races run in the past 6 years can stack up to the guts shown during the 2001 Breeders' Cup Classic by my boy Tiznow.

It makes my jaw drop every time I watch the stretch run of that race.

Speaking of greatness...gotta love YouTube and all of it's videos!

Dr. Fager v. Damascus the music and speaker are a bit funny, but pretty incredible:

Hmmm, winning season after season, check. Different distances, check. Different tracks, check. Carried the most weight of any horse in the country last year, check. Left Sun King in the dust, check. Sounds like Sir Greeley.
