Any doubt which is the toughest conference? The final ranking should be #1- Florida...#2 LSU. That leads to a great T-shirt for Auburn:

Auburn...27
#1 Fla....17

Auburn ...7
#2 LSU ...3

The SEC sent 9 of the 12 teams (that's getting pretty deep in the old roster) to bowl games and won 6 of them including the national championship. Fine performance I would suggest.

I'm looking at the Box Score and I see that the Buckeyes only
had a total of 82 yards of offense, that is pathetic from a #1
team in college football. How far to do you people think OSU
will fall in the polls

the OSU offensive line was dominated tonight hands down, and Ginn? being out didnt help them, as far as the polls im not sure but FLA ,MICH, USC , should be ahead of them for sure. im not sure what they have coming in next year ,but i bet the polls wont treat em to bad

for anyone who thinks boise st got no respect, here's why:

August 31 Sacramento State W 45-0 1-0 (0-0)
September 7 Oregon State W 42-14 2-0 (0-0)
September 16 at Wyoming W 17-10 3-0 (0-0)
September 23 Hawaii W 41-34 4-0 (1-0)
September 30 at Utah W 36-3 5-0 (1-0)
October 7 Louisiana Tech W 55-14 6-0 (2-0)
October 15 at New Mexico State W 40-28 7-0 (3-0)
October 21 at Idaho W 42-26 8-0 (4-0)
November 1 Fresno State W 45-21 9-0 (5-0)
November 11 at San Jose State W 23-20 10-0 (6-0)
November 18 Utah State W 49-10 11-0 (7-0)
November 25 at Nevada W 38-7 12-0 (8-0)
January 1 vs No. 11 Oklahoma W 43-42 13-0 (8-0) Fox

'nuff said. in no way does this schedule stack up against ANYTHING that other teams in the top ten faced. NO ranked team til the bowl game, and oklahoma was a two game loser this year--and they squeaked by them by ONE point. boise st got way too much credit for their 'perfect' season.

I agree...

No disrespect for Boise State, but I don't think they deserved to play in the championship game after playing that schedule. I'm convinced that they would have probably been at least a 2-3 loss team if they played a tougher schedule.

That same Oregon St team that they blew out beat USC so to suggest they played nothing is ridiculous. Besides, do you know how hard it is to schedule a game against a top 25 opponent for them? The BCS schools only play each other or cupcake in-state opponents in their non-conference games. A team like Boise St would love to play USC every year but USC would never put that game on their schedule. Just scoring Oregon St is a pretty big accomplishment for their schedule maker. Of course now that Oregon St lost we'll see if any Pac-10 school ever goes to Boise again. This is the typical response of the BCS conference lovers, look at their schedule. Yet the reality is they try and schedule as difficult of a schedule as they can manage but none of the big name schools want to play a school like Boise St.

I would say that Hawaii is also a pretty good team on their schedule and I'm not blaming Boise State, but the truth is that when you have other teams playing ranked teams all season long, they should get more push to play the BCS games than Boise State. I have no clue how the scheduling works... thanks for posting the info you did.

Not only that, scheduling takes place years in advance. How do you know who is going to be good in 2010.

It is very hard for Boise State to schedule BCS schools because of money...simply money. They don't offer home and home series. They want the revenue from extra home games on their OOC schedules. Basically, they'd have to be willing to travel during this period.

i was suggesting they didn't play nearly as tough a schedule as others. i understand who they played, and who those opponents played. BUT they didn't play the same type of schedule as other teams in the top ten. i also understand how schedules are set up. but i was pointing out WHY they didn't get higher up in the final rankings. fact remains they played this schedule.
i don't LOVE the bcs--but strength of schedule is a factor--the same factor all teams have to go by.

i know that not all teams want to play them, just like bcs bowls didn't want them--ratings being what they are after. it's a harsh reality.

i want a playoff system. nothing else will do. but in the meantime, everyone knows the rules. for them to complain i feel is wrong-they know the way it's set up.

auburn a few years ago, when they went undefeated, had a legit gripe about the nat'l title. these guys don't.

I know we shouldn't say never, but the biggest reason why a playoff won't happen anytime soon is simply $$$. Too much involved in the bowl games with the cities and tv.

I agree that Boise St couldn't compete with the big boys night in and night out, but I also believe that if a Division I school goes undefeated, wins their conference, and wins a BCS bowl, they should have consideration for the title. I don't care what conference they are in, eventually there will be a game in which they have to play with the big boys and they did and won. I realize it's not basketball, but I'm sure a few of us remember a certain Villanova team that had absolutely no business even being on the same court as the Ewing led Hoyas. Well they did that night. Or a USA Hockey team that did believe in miracles and produced one. That is the beauty of amateur athletics. When given a chance, legends are made of true underdogs.
