Default Tenfold

Big fan of this horse. Looks like a horse that doesn't want to stop and as of right now, he looks like he rated well on the lead last time. Gomez seemed to give him a little education about kicking away from runners as he let the 8 horse pull up to him and almost get a head on him, but he didn't quit.

He is my 1st KY Derby horse this year

That doesn't say much because I chased My Golden Song all winter last year, and many others in the past

Hopefully Tenfold gets er done.

Tenfold doesn't have a 3 syllable name he would not be the norm

and a horse on the lead with the name Tenfold

now that I have made fun of him he has an 80% chance of winning
but only if I don't bet him

I hope some of you caught "At the Races" last night as we had Baffert on and he talked extensively about Tenfold.. and Midnight Lute.

In another of the days oddities, Tenfold's dam Island Rythm is a daughter of top Peruvian-bred mare La Chaposa. Island Rythm is a half to the great Chaposa Springs as well as You and I, La Chaposa's two best progeny.

The oddity? La Chaposa, now 24, has her OWN three year old running today.. POINT GOLD from Bill Mott in the GP 5th.. In other words, Tenfold's mother is a half sister of Point Gold. Tenfold is Point Gold's equine "nephew" at the same age...

You can't make this stuff up..

Hooray for Point Gold! Good test today, however, the race could set up for Our Sacred Honor with Mister White Socks, PG & Zoopstick battling it out. King Alliance looks good too.

As for the Rafael, Grapelli is my horse.

It'll be interesting to see how Tenfold does today b/c he was allowed to set very soft fractions while also being the controlling speed in his last race and his beyer wasn't very strong. I'll be playing against him on the win end today b/c he'll likely be overbet based on the connections. Sticking with Notional on top and see Soldier picking up the pieces underneath.

It is of my opinion that Notional is finished, he blew his load in his MSW. If you watch the Tenfold race carefully, that race was more of an education then anything. Gomez learned alot about the horse as on the final turn he let this 8 horse Tiago (who I think is Sadler's, who he had great expectations for) get a head in front of Tenfold and then Gomez let him loose and he responded, and didn't hang. Was a little green towards the end and then galloped out pretty strong. a horses third race is usually his best and his two TG numbers are comparable, which could signal an explosion.

The other great thing about this is if he wins this race, he likely only needs to get a 3rd in another graded stakes race to qualify for the Derby.

He has everything that is liked for a Derby Prospect, broke his maiden at two with two decent learning experience, lightly raced, staying pedigree.

My only questions are

1) Can he speed rate and/or rate 3rd/4th?

2) Will Espinoza try to get cute on the nuts?

Does anyone's opinion change on Tenfold with Espinoza up instead of Gomez (who's on the 4-Grapelli)?

you could very well be right about notional. oneill has done this with 3 or 4 horses-huge 1st out beyers then never recovered. i like him adding the hood, his gd 6f work and the versatile style. tiago is a half to stockholder, i think and the connections had/do have very high expections for him. i dont have the sheets for SA's card, but if he paired up then Tenfold could be sitting on a monster race. his beyers are "paired up" but thats hardly reliable. what did he run on the rags/tg's? the pair up and if he can rate, as u point, could lead to a big race for tenfold. looking forward to it!

Wow, a hefty exacta box using a 3-5 that is "finished." That's a heckuva saver.

This Tenfold horse is just lucky he held on for 2nd otherwise I would be on a real tandrum. I was lucky enough to back up my win wager with a hefty exacta box as a precaution, so I only bleed a little, instead of cutting off my whole hand.....
