Default Question - Agency

People, can you help with a question?

Is there any service in the US (or anywhere in the world) that allows people to buy a "share" on horses? I mean, a service provider which works like an agent, looking for some people who don't have the money to buy and mantain a horse on their own, but want to have one. And, this way, buy a horse together with other 10 or 15 people that they don't know (with this agent intermediation).

I want to study something about the issue, because I don't know anything like this in my country and I want to look for something like this.

Thank you!

Yeah...I saw it! She is a very good filly!
And there was another brazilian horse that made his debut this weekend and got a very good 2nd place too...his name is Out of Control.
This year's Dubai Carnival is full of brazilian very strong horses!

I've bought shares through several stables in claimers and 2yo's. Kinda what DT stable is hoping to do.

I don't know of any "agency" to speak of. However, if you are just talking about one of these "partnership" companies, syndicates, etc. -- there are tons and tons of them. They advertise all over the place -- the DRF, BH, TT, both print and online. Just browse around some of these places and you can't miss them.

As far as a recommendation, I don't think anyone can make a good one as there is much information missing -- potential investment level, expectation, racehorse, yearling, timeframe, etc. However, I will say that and tell everyone the very same thing when they ask me about investing in these partnerships -- do it to have fun but expect to lose money because chances are very high that you will. You'll have fun with some of them but you'll lose money with almost everyone of them.

The invesmtment is supposed to be real "throw away money" so you really should look at it that way.

The Derby Trail partnership is somewhat different so you should look there if just for the experience.

Eric
