Someone should tell Joe Bravo. What the hell happened to him? I guess it is injury related but he has no idea what is going on. Clearly the inside was good yesterday, and in today's opener ( a pretty unbettable race ) he was riding a fairly logical horse, who was sitting third just off the pace. Instead of just easing up with his garden inside position, he sent three to four wide, prematurely on the turn. There's a winning recipe!
The winner, of course, assumed his perfect earlier position, and scooted up the vacated rail. However, his steady early - move wide and prematurely turf style is even funnier. |

I've bet a few of his horses at Gulf and havent been too happy. Not sure if it was the horse or him but he just doesnt seem like the old Joey. One of them was Prop Me Up on Sunshine Millions Day. |

It was probably mostly the horse, usually is, but his riding is just bad. Too bad as ten years ago when I wintered there he rode well. The injuries probably took their toll.

I also liked Spider Power on Sunday but resisted the temptation to play the race, mostly because I was broke. He seemed to give the horse a pretty decent chance to win in that race, at least in my opinion.
The biggest bet I have ever made in my life was on a horse he rode and won on. |
