One over infinity. Only hope for Mr. Z is getting new trainer and focusing on 7-8 furlong races. Saw him finish second in last year's Delta Jackpot. He just hasn't moved forward as 3YO. Another Lukas fail.

He made over $650K in 2015, for career earnings of over $1.15 Million. How exactly is this a failure?

Would you agree his race placements weren't ideal?

The entire internet had him giving him rest after the Derby and Preakness. He won $400K in his next two starts. Who am I to cherry pick where he should or shouldn't have run?

Does Mr. Z have any shot in this suggested Clark field? Highly doubtful. Better spot might have been Delta Mile this Saturday. Right track, right distance, right class, and possible successful outcome. I will gladly post picture of myself in dunce cap if Mr. Z wins Clark Handicap.

Sad to see Dortmund out, was looking forward to him. However story was informative about a trainer and his methods. Baffert says he waits a few days after a crack and then looks at patching it. It's their method. The time frame didn't allow for him to make the race and he didn't change the way they do things. Good methods get good results, but maybe not this weekend. I'm looking forward to him this year. He was a very good 3YO and could be a very good 4 YO. If you are going to get hiccups, now is the time.
We can't forget Hoppertunity, who won this last year. I think he might get a bad rap because of expectations, but he's a good horse and has the record and earnings to show for it. |
