R.I.P. Peter Boyle
Peter Boyle who is best well known as Frank Barone on Everybody loves Raymond passed away yesterday at the age of 71 here in NY.Prior to that most of us would've known him as Frankensteins (or as Gene Wilder put it Frankensteens)monster in Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein.I also thought he was great on an episode of The X-Files.Rest in peace big guy.

Wow.. that's too bad. He was an under-appreciated talent...
This weekend, rent JOE (where he is brilliant in the title role); TAXI DRIVER (in a significant role); TV movie as Joe McCarthy in TAIL GUNNER JOE and OUTLAND (the Sci-Fi 'High Noon' as the bad mining company boss trying to Connerry killed)... That X-Files episode mentioned above is one of the most famous of the series... "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" (or The Finale Repose of Clyde Bruckman)... It's terrific.

He will be missed, a very good
actor. He was a riot in his role as Raymond's dad, was also in Young Frankenstein and Johnny Dangerously to name a few. Rest in Peace and be happy and safe with our Lord.

He won for the X-Files episode, by the way. I was in a French class with his wife during the Raymond days-- heck of a schedule-- she told me he would spend three weeks in LA and then fly back for one week with her and their daughter (they didn't want to take their daughter out of her school so she and her mom stayed in New York). Nice lady. She was a reporter for "Rolling Stone" when they met, I believe.

Just a little piece of trivia ... his best man when he got married in 1977 was none other than John Lennon.

Who could ever forget the scene in Yourg Frankenstein when he and Gene Wilder sang "Puttin on the Ritz". That scene was truly a classic.
