it is just so beyond comprehension...and more comes out every day.
a woman took her child to the doctor, who tested and found he'd been lead poisoned....he told her, it's just a few iq points, it's not the end of the world! just amazing.
and of course the govt employees got water coolers last summer, but who cares about the unwashed masses and their water?
there's a special kind of evil that gets people to do things such as this, and to knowingly cause harm and just not give a damn.

on a side note....i had to go to the dmv here yesterday. as i'm waiting for the lady to get my deed stamps together, i look around, and there's a new picture of the new governor, asa hutchinson. and i wonder....how much does it cost the state to do that picture, and send to every office to post? and governors are term limited, so at least every 8 years they have to redo all those.
why? do we all have to see a stupid picture of the governor? how much does that cost the taxpayer, along with all the other wasted money on wasted bs like that?
oh, and the property i bought. well, it was a barbershop for 60 years or more, and i was going to leave the barber pole, because it's part of the history of the building.
guess what? there's a law. a state official actually drove two hours one way to inspect, see the pole was still there, and write me a notice that i had 30 days to remove it, because it's not a barber shop anymore. or i would get fined.
so, we don't have money for stupid things like health and education, but we have plenty of money for barber pole inspectors and pictures. brilliant

'We can go to the Middle East, bomb and destroy entire cities, rebuild these cities, and we can’t fix this? Where are the temporary water systems that our government could set up? Where are the military personnel and trucks who could deliver cases of water and filters to people who have no resources nor transportation? '

in brazil, soldiers are going door to door and spraying to kill mosquitoes.

we have the most expensive military in the world, but we can't hand out water?

Obama declared a state of emergency 2 weeks ago. So there, they've got that going for them.

Maybe he can squeeze in a few moments to look into it, if he is allowed to take a break from apologizing for Americans. Again.

And that's your response to kids being poisoned by their own government. But of course they're poor and brown so they don't count.

If this is a typical reaction of the rest of the nation, "Sure, kids getting lead poison- BUT WHAT ABOUT OBUMMER VISITING A MOSQUE? HUH?" those poor kids are f*cked even more than they have been already.

Ugh.

No, actually. The point, would you choose to actually read the thread, is that he signed a Federal state of emergency declaration 2 weeks ago. And hasn't lifted a finger to even so much as follow up since - THAT is why, to Zigs point, there is no Federal involvement.
But his ignorance is not without precedent.

He did kinda completely ignore the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico for 5 WEEKS before he was forced off the golf course and engage.

Why haven't you apologized for trying to make hay out 14 people murdered by Islamic terrorists before their bodies were even cold?

Now THAT was inexcusable.

I really think they were just going to ignore everything until they changed to the new water system in june of this year, and hope that solved all the problems.
except it wouldn't, because flint river water corroded all the pipes, which is why the lead is now exposed and in the water...
Detroit found out flint was changing to that system, tried to force them to stay with Detroit-so flint jumped the gun and moved to the river until the huron pipeline was ready-knowing full well that the river was NO good substitute.
what a goddamn mess.

But hey, let them eat cake!

Or rather, let the Governor's wife eat cake, while the Governor makes sure the windows are blacked out so no one can see:

And yet, this Fall, you're going to vote for the party that continues to push for less governmental regulation of industry, and less involvement in state affairs. One of the reasons Gov't response was delayed was that BP just flat out lied about how much oil was going into the water, because the less oil, the lower the fine. And you, as a right-winger, are totally cool with that, because, hey, free markets man! Stay out of Big Business's way because they can TOTALLY be counted on to do the right thing! Like BP did!

You're going to vote for the party that put an Emergency Manager in control of Flint and gave that person dictatorial powers, so that the people themselves got no say in what happened to their water source. Because that's freedom! No vote! No say in what happens to your water source because you're poor and should be grateful you're getting water at all! Even if it will cause your kids brain damage! Which of course, we won't tell you.

In Michigan, Democrats have won the popular vote election after election, but GOP gerrymandering makes sure they keep themselves in power:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/1...t-water-crisis

Quote:
Rendering legislative elections almost meaningless still wasn’t enough power to satisfy Republicans, since many key cities with large minority populations have remained Democratic strongholds, such as Detroit (which voted 98 percent for Obama) and Flint (90 percent). Republicans therefore concocted a scheme to circumvent elected local governments by having the state appoint so-called “emergency managers” to take control of local financial decisions. It was a perfect display of cynicism: Republicans in the state capital have spent years starving Detroit and other cities financially, thus paving the way for these emergency managers to swoop in and undermine pensions, promote education privatization, and dismantle public services.
And that's who you will be voting for this fall- the party of unregulated Big Business and Emergency Managers. Heckofajob there, RBE.

Yes, please presume to know the first thing about who "I am going to vote for" whilst simultaneously quoting a dailykos slant piece that blames Republicans for the mess in a city that has been under Democratic control for over 50 years.

Would never expect anything less from you.

FYI:

>>>How many Flints until we learn our lesson? Flint, Mich., has been poisoning its residents. The city, in an attempt to save money, planned to stop buying water from Detroit and sign up with a regional water system; in the interim, it was getting its municipal water from the Flint River, which is as much a garbage dump as it is a body of water. Residents complained that the water smells of chemicals, that it isn’t the right color, etc. Children’s lead levels are dangerously high, and an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease may also be linked to city water. The city knew about this, and did approximately nothing in response until the problem was well advanced. A word that is curiously scarce in coverage of this disaster: Democrat. Flint, like big brother Detroit down the way, has a long history of political dominance by the Democratic party. Its current mayor is a Democrat; so was her predecessor; the mayor before him, Don Williamson, was a career criminal (he did time for various scams some years back) and a Democrat who resigned under threat of recall; his immediate predecessor, Democrat James W. Rutherford, is a longtime politico and was elected to finish out the term of Woodrow Stanley, who was recalled because of the financial state in which he left the city. Stanley was in effect replaced by — Democrat — Darnell Earley, former director of the Democratic legislative caucus’s research-and-policy team, who became the city’s emergency manager. Earley is the Democrat the other Democrats blame for changing the city’s water supply, and the Michigan Democratic party has demanded his termination.<<<
