Gus, I'm sure that many of us online appreciate your loyalty and your AP picks. Honestly I can no longer support Arlington. Today is a good example why. Late post, only 3 races with 10+ entries before scratches and the entry charge is $22. Am I the only one who thinks that is excessive? I've posted this before and was slammed by others who talked of how clean and family friendy the track is. Granted it's clean but lately almost every seat thats shaded has an upcharge. After paying $22. I still need to buy a program and pay extra to sit in the shade. Sorry i'll be at the OTB for the rest of the season.

$22 admission is ridiculous. The place is a palace, but for $22 plus a program, I’d rather play a pick 4 or box a trifecta . It’s this kind of bullst that’s killing the game. Gulfstream with their ridiculous post times... I’d love to hear the explanation of why it should cost $22 bucks to get in the track.

It’s usually $8, $22 tonight due to the fireworks show after the races. Not that I’m a big firework Guy, but they put on a show. It will be a packed house and they will clean up tonight at the gates. Some say it’s the best in town and that’s saying something. I plan on being there for Million Preview Day on Saturday. Good luck to those playing.

And frankly yes it's annoying. But with the way things are in Illinois they need that gate and concession money very very badly and with days like Fireworks it will be packed with people. If you want to argue they've given up on serious horse players then sure but the place is geared toward families with kids or groups who go out a few times a year and will spend a bunch of money on booze and food. Also I know each has their own preferences but I'd never even bother paying for a seat in the shade up there. You can get a GA ticket and there are plenty of places inside the concourse you can sit out of the sun between races. |
