Obviously love this card, but Im having a hard time coming up with any real prices.
Dont like races 1-3. Thinking about playing big pick 3s. 4-6 and 7-9.
Race 4-
The 1 feels like the horse to beat and the 3 is the speed unless the 2 goes on a crazy mission. Maybe the 7,8 can be price plays, but it's Pratt and Smith and both are likely to take money.
Race 5-
Scalper is the goods. I also heard All Good was good before his debut, he took a ton of money and showed nothing. He did break slow and it was a sloppy track, so there are excuses.
Race 6-
Did Mike Smith actually choose to ride the 2? I think the 1,2,4,5 can all win, but would hate to be 4 deep for Dream Tree.
Thats it for now. Will look at the other 3 races tomorrow.

That’s a good question. Is it only me or does anyone else notice that “Money Mike” is not an automatic go to for Baffert at this point. Maybe I’m just slow getting it but it started for me when he didn’t get the mount on Game Winner. Is he on any Baffert 2 year old’s at this point?

He rode Marley's Freedom that day. Mike has 21 Graded wins this year and has 12 of Bafferts 24 but only 3 of 10 since Sept which statistically is within reason. I just find it odd that he is nowhere to be seen on Baffert's 2 year olds...

In Edit...

Andy is quicker than I am...

Copper Bullet could run away from all of these, mix him in with the Ax Man and Kanthaka.

Baffert said something very revealing when I asked him to discuss the 6 months of prep time for Coliseum. He said he turned to Talamo when developing the colt because he needed someone physically strong for control. And he was very careful to not malign Smith as part of the explanation. Smith may be fine for finished products, but may not be up to handling headstrong young horses.

Race 7-
The 5 is clearly the horse to beat and he might be more effective at shorter distances. The 1 is the wild card, but he likely wants longer.
If you want to toss Gidu's last 3 races, his Saratoga race makes him a player. Can he get back to it and is it worth taking 7-2 to find out. I guess if the 9,11 both scratched Gidu would then be a big player.
Race 8-
Not sure yet. Dont really want either of the chalks though.

This Malibu is tricky. Could pace get going? I think it may. Still Having Fun and Axelrod can be there near the end at nice prices. Fun betting race. Good luck

Doesn't he have to deal with the 1 and at least 1 of Bafferts horses? I hate the field he beat last time, though it was fast and off the layoff.

Is he more likely to win or run last?
I have him as the 9th most likely winner.
