Don't think that you should be disappointed. Be proud of her for what she accomplished. Nest ran a very brave race and proved that she belonged. I don't think that her stumble at the break cost her a win. She simply was beaten by a horse who was better on that day.

Nest did herself proud and brought her connections a nice paycheck home as well. She was a strong contender.

The only possible bird reference I see in all those Roamin listed is one named Bunty's Flight.
Must admit that pedigree is not my strong suit. I know that Tapit is a distance influence and of course I know Curlin who actually lost to the filly, Rags to Riches, but only by a head so it seemed likely that his progeny could get a mile and a half. I think that several in the field had some influence from those two sires, but of course, the winner didn't. He was by Uncle Mo. The one horse that finished in the top four that didn't seem to be all that well bred for distance was the horse that seemed to have a big influence on the outcome and that was Skippylongstocking, but even he was a grandson of Curlin. |

Yep, I did. Brain fog and I haven't even had Covid. I can't use that excuse for anything that I do, which is usually some very bad handicapping, but I keep plugging away at it and in another 50 years or so, I will be awesome.
