Venue 4/1 - Gulfstream Park
Get ready cause we are full carding it. Races 1 - 14. April Fools maybe or maybe not. I know you're all studying for the Florida Derby to run. So get ready to run from beginning to the end. I think I may regret this come Sunday morning.

I usually suggest moderation in the number of races in our contests, both to keep players from from getting overloaded and out of concern for our scorers. Since you will be the one scoring this extravaganza, the latter isn't necessary. It will make for a long day at the track, about 7 hours and 10 minutes from "flag fall to that's all". Let's plan on meeting at the ATM after race 7 to replenish our cash.
I'm glad April Fool's only comes once a year. |

I probably went to far with asking for all players to be on deck for race 1 call. Probably because I live on the east coast and have no idea when the west coast wake-up.

I have no problem if you drop the first and second race call JolyB and make it play races 3 - 14.

Digger, I think that is a good decision on your part. We won't lose anything of importance by dropping races 1 and 2. Don't know if we have any west coast players, but I can think of one player in the Mountain time zone who deplores early first posts.
I'll post the threads later for Gulfstream Park races 3 through and including the Florida Derby. BTW, congrats on your Points win. |

Ruff, I think that we already have a pretty full dance card. I'm sure that players will still have an interest in the Arkansas Derby even though it is not part of our contest. I think it is scheduled to go off at 6:24 PM Central, about 45 minutes after the Florida Derby.

Ruff, every Saturday there are lots of great races. I suspect that many of us handicap them, wager on them and watch them. They might even be included in other contests in which we participate. But we've discussed "bonus" races in the past. Often they don't make the contest better, they only add more - more handicapping effort and time for players, more trying to obtain pp's, more jumping around the results for our scorers.

Nice win last week Digger.
I'll be back in the gate for the Gulfstream card. It's taken me a full week to get almost back to normal from our "simple" move from the 4th floor of our aparmtent building to the 2nd. I realized what felling like a 76 year old is really like and . . . I DON'T LIKE IT (ohhhh the back, the back). Anyway see y'all tomorrow.
