![]() Burying Barbaro at CD would be an honor he derserves. I wish the Jacksons would stop screwing around and accept the offer. He also deserved to be buried whole, and not his cremated remains.

![]() Well, they're talking about building a local racing museum up in the Philly area. I think that's just a good a spot as any to put him. Plus, you could also build on the Smarty Jones-Afleet Alex-Barbaro tradition that has been established the last three years. Hopefully add Hard Spun, eh?

![]() They've said they want to bury his ashes somewhere the public can come visit, so wherever they decide, it likely won't be their farm. I think that's really classy of them, and a nice final gift to his fans.

![]() Forgive me for my ignorance, but is cremation usually done? Personally I don't like the thought of Barbaro being cremated. But then again, that's just me.

![]() i plan to be cremated when i die. certainly don't have a problem with barbaro being cremated.
i'd imagine they did it for just this reason-not sure yet where he would be buried. not like you can wait very long without having done so. also, maybe they are considering having him buried at a track--and there are VERY FEW intact horses buried at tracks. |

![]() Are you aure he's been creamated Smarty? On Larry King the Jacksons said they haven't decided what to do with his remains yet. But then again maybe it was implied that he was cremated.

they are taking their time on deciding, and have every right to do so. churchill stepped up, ky horse park also would like to inter him there. then there's something possibly in the works closer to home... i'd like to see him at churchill or ky horse park. that is a beautiful place. i also think the heart and hooves thing is a bit gruesome, but as i understand it is also a tradition. one can see why when you consider everything involved in burying a horse--space constraints more than anything would keep you from doing that with all of your horses. to be perfectly honest, i want a viking 'burial' but will have to settle for cremation. |

First, welcome.. Technically, you're member #1,000... The tradition is that only horses' hearts (courage) and hooves (speed) are buried. The greats are buried 'entire'.. a rare honor.
