If you guys like a little excitement like Durkin brings, you should listen to Paul Allen, the Canterbury/Minnesota Vikings radio announcer. His horse calls are accurate and full of ecitment.

And when the Arizona Cardinals knocked the Minnesota Vikings out of the Playoffs at the end of the 2003 regualr season on a last-second TD, you heard this famous call:
This is the season right here. Mccown. Shotgun. Rolls Right. Throws to the back of the end zone... Caught! TOUCH DOWN! NOOOO! NOOOO! And the Arizona Cardinals have just knocked the Minnesota Vikings out of the playoffs!

John G. Dooley, hands down. Like him more the the other two anyway. He's my favorite day-in day-out.

A guy that I really like more and more is Luke Kruytbosch. He seems accurate and gives the race an exciting feel, especially in the stretch when they are "set down for the drive!"

On a side note, I saw him on TVG yesterday, first time I had ever seen him. Boy did I have him figured wrong. I had him figured as an old-timer. He and Vic Stauffer just looked like two dudes you might see every day at the otb holding a beer and a DRF and talking horses.

Nobody calls "D Money" better than Durkin. I like Imbriale too, but he just doesnt realize the impact D Money has on North American racing. His enthusiam has been better than ever but he is still very melancholy.
I heard Imbriale posts on here now, is this true?

Another vote for John G. Dooley. One of his best lines, when they make the final turn: "No torn tickets yet"

I for some reason, always love when he is talking about closers and gets that excited sound in his voice and says "AND ________ IS BEING PRODUCED DOWN THE CENTER OF THE COURSE!"

Both he and that pretentious guy who calls himself John G. Dooley could give aspirin a headache.

I actually enjoyed a few of Stauffer's big race calls---however, he can be unbearably annoying sometimes.

For example, loudly proclaiming that Azeri has "the speed of Ruffian, the class of Lady's Secret, and the heart of Personal Ensign!" while she was beating Tropical Blossom by two lengths----that was a little over the top if you ask me.

If this thread were about what track announcer do you not like the most I would emphatically say Tony Calo. If he's calling races, I just turn it off. Seriously, "Sport of Kings" and Tony Calo cannot be mentioned in the same sentence.

Paul Allen has got to be the absolute WORST Track announcer in the history of racing. Most,if not all of the regulars I know at CBY cannot stand him and wish he would get canned.

The migraine headache of track announcers is Richard Grunder at Tampa.
I'd rather scratch my nails down a chalkboard than hear him get excited.
