Default NYRA

I have heard from a very good source that the panel put in place Spitzer met last week in Ithica for 4 days (away from the masses) to discuss the situation with running the operation.

Told it will be a joint venture between NYRA and the "newly" (and its not the two front runners?) appointed and that the high percentage of current NYRA staff will stay in tack to make the transition smooth.

Was also at the Oklahoma training track in Saratoga track this past week and was shocked to see the usual guards gone and new company in place. No NYRA signs or vehicles were visible during my visit.

Should be very interesting in the next month or so...

I wish you told me earlier, as poor Bill Nader then wasted his entire day writing up part of NYRA's presentation to the commitee. It would have been nice to have saved him the trouble.

To be mildly serious, unfortunately, I think that is a common conception of what could happen, and certainly not an impossible one, but considering the myriad of rumors I've heard about the franchise situation over the last two years, I wouldn't put a lot of credence into any of these supposed inside scoops. While it's hardly outrageous to think of at least some of the song and dance with the commitee to be more for show, I will choose to believe that the proposals submitted will at least be seriously considered before any final decision is made. Call me naive, but as this decision is extremely important for all of racing, I will hope that even if I don't agree with the final say that it was done after careful appraisal of everyone's merits.

I think it opens early April this year for training. I am almost certain there aren't horses there now.

They had two feet of snow last week and early Apr temps are supposed to be near 10 degrees at night....I'm not bringing my horses up there till early May....But it is hands down the finest training track in the nation. I will not debate this.

Andy, I would have to think your mile time right now, if you tried to jog it would be in the 9:30 range. Which would put your 4 furlong breeze at somewhere around 5:15. Your two minute lick is like 10 minutes.

Yes the Oklahoma does not open open until April. Still it is operational and we were there to request getting some pic on the new fallen snow of the stretch of the flat track. New guards in place that checked our credentials more than the ususal guards had in the past.

My source has connections with some very influential people in the game.

The decision has been made and will be announced when it is fully developed. Will be ok for all involved.

A disagreement with you is not " negative ". If you can't handle differing opinions then don't post....especially when you are posting rumors of this kind.

Here's something positive, just for you to help you in the future, it's " too " with two os.

Glad you put your attention to proper spelling. you guys are dime a dozen. What you call a rumor is fact to me. Thats were we disagree. No sense going any further in discussion wih you.

Done posting with you..go find some more bad grammer elsewhere.

I'm sure you'll be back to revisit the issue should it turn out you were wrong. Calling rumors " fact ", especially in regards to horseracing, is lunacy beyond belief.

Apparently you think posting on a message board doesn't allow dissenting opinion. The funny thing is that had I not responded this thread would most likely have gotten what it actually deserved....no responses.

Hey Java

Thanks for posting. The decision will have a large impact on the sport. Although I do not know anyone of influence, it is clear with the hearings and deadlines next week news will be forthcoming, and soon.

Do not pay any attention to BTW, he consistently tries to intimidate new posters. BBB
