Well i'm not one to worry about what others think.
Maybe you should. 100 percent serious here, when I say that I do not find mort funny. I recommend a 70% saline solution drip. verrrry boring if you ask me. May I suggest the electric chair would not do much for you either? for as many posts and thoughts he has thrown up, all of them with the intent of being funny or clever? Or you'll get there. Stop watching so much Hannerty and what'shisname. No I find many others on here much more funny and concise. Link please. the espn thing was funny, many people were funny at that time, not only oracle. he was funny in the way you mentioned, not intentionally funny. But, for me it was offset by other stuff that made me cringe. not a pleasant person and don't miss him. when you're on the receiving end of some of his unintentional humor its not as funny. I didn't like BrainDispencer either. |

(clear throat uncomfortably) umm... i do think that was funny. "maybe you should". i don't want to be wiping mort's spunk from my chin but i admit that makes me laugh. can you hand me a hanky? you're in the front row now. someone else will be there later. nothing personal. i don't think it is from mort either. it's okay if you disagree with me. i'd just suggest a seat in the shadow's. |

I can't explain the Mort phenomenon other than to say his personna reminds me a lot of Gilbert Gottfried... Glbert is of course an acquired taste, and his act can wear thin. Despite the majority of his and Mort's stylings hitting the ear like nails on a chalkboard, a certain percentage is highly amusing.
And like Gilbert on Howard's Show, he will eventually get the hook, only to return at a later date when you are hungry for him again.. like Chinese food. There it is exactly... Mu Shu Mort.

Steve....you are most kind and very well schooled, but I really hate GG. I felt this a very poor analogy. I feel I am more the great artist only the deepst thinkers can appreciate. A Rockwell reference would have been so much better. |

But I don't get the comparison to Morty. Once in awhile a few of his lines border on clever. but the endless parade of obscure cryptic references....boring. The mangling of names, snarljim? ha ha ha! a quarter rattle at best. Then the uncalled for ugly side where he insults people, whats funny about that? His comedy reminds me of the quote by Getrude Stein "there is no there there". |
