Default Keenland opening day...

The card looks nice, funny cide is racing in the 8th race it is a Allowance Optional Claiming race it looks to me like it is a very good field and im not even sure if funny cide will be favored, actually i dont think he will be favored he might not even be the second or third choice i could see him being 5-1 vs this group. The 9th is the Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes that also looks to be a good race with some nice three year old turf horses in there. I will also make a prediction.....Julian Leparoux will be the leading rider at this meet.

Is it fair to assume that handicapping largess extends to polytrack as well?

That is some spot Tagg found for Funny Cide's return. It would be nice to at least occasionally see this poor horse in a spot where his best efforts would make him at least competitive. He's still a pretty good horse, even off last year, and making his debut in this spot is baffling to say the least. I'm sure they would have written a race for him in NY.

It's hard for me to blame Tagg for the foolish spots this horse continually races in, as he's just too good a trainer to be this consistently wrong, but whomever is to blame should be ashamed of themselves. How about a confidence booster?

Sorry, to change the topic here, briefly . . . I'll be brief, promise. Have you learned anymore, while you were away, whether or not your show will be available to non-wagering customers of YouBet, or as you indicated possibly at DRF?

Thank you.

Hopefully, many will be able to listen, an added benefit to DRFPlus would be nice.

And good luck with the show and the contest!

well by reading your post im thinking you think he cant win here, i think he can win if he likes the poly but this is a grade 3 type group and i agree with you very hard spot to return in, off funny cide, i just noticed that time squared is also running on the card, i like this ny bred alot and i think he has to break his maiden in this spot

Have you looked at the field the odds on Time Squared is running in or are you just picking the favorite off the cuff? Personally, I can't imagine why ANYBODY would take another short price on this horse, especially with the Polytrack variable thrown in, and surely there are more inviting places for one to invest their money.

I just called Youbet and will either have an answer for you later or tomorrow. I will find out DRF specifics tomorrow as well.

no no i dident mean it like that, i just like him and i mean i hope he breaks his maiden in this spot, not from a betting standpoint, i would never bet him at the price he will be, but you would have to say he's the one to beat, wouldnt you ?

I'm not sold on Time Squared at all and he may be one of those money burner types. What excuse did he have in his second start? Didn't the post-DQ winner take a tour of the grandstand in midstretch?

Shocked?

Don't agree with you there at all. There are other contenders in that race and I am not sold on Time Squared.

I've only glanced through the race but he seems about 7th or 8th best with a cursory look.
