Kolob
Before today, I knew nothing about Kolob. I still don't. I've never seen it, been there or one that.
Mitt seems to be gaining support. Honestly, I don't know. If anyone can shed something about Kolob besides the link below, I'd be much appreciative. Enquiring minds want to know. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/taylor...s_b_45066.html |

You mean, "Multiple-Choice Mitt," as he's been dubbed?
Honestly, I don't care if a politician is a Scientologist, as long as he (or she) supports separation of church and state. I'm more amused by this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-w...omney-hunting? Shame. The guy seemed like a pretty reasonable moderate in his voting record, but then he goes after the Republican nom and feels a need to pander to the ultra-right wingers. Like they say, "Multiple-Choice Mitt."

yeah, cracks me up that he suddenly joined the NRA--i'm not a member of that group btw. we were once, for a year. it ticked me off that they (like so many other 'non-profits') sent mailing after mailing asking for more money--i called and said they sure would have a lot more dough in their account if they didn't constantly pester their members, please cancel our membership thankyouverymuch.
a 'lifetime' member, huh? pffft...just another pol. as for the first link--amazing, another example of a religion feeling THEY should be above question, yet no doubt they question other religions as zealously as they themselves are questioned. so much for do unto others. i won't vote elsewhere due to romney being a mormon, as genrisk said, it doesn't matter. but i won't vote for someone who i feel is being dishonest, or pandering, in order to hopefully get the most votes. be real, be yourself, be honest, let us decide if YOU, the REAL you, is what we want!! please. trust us candidates, we can handle it!! bah...it'll never happen.

I also am no longer a member of the NRA. When they went crazy to legislate for auto weapons, they no longer represented my interests. Mitt gives hunters a bad name too. I wonder if he eats the "varmits" he kills. Darth Dick needs to take one of their hunter safety courses, and I suggest he starts with Eddie the Eagle. Was that a quail or a lawyer that looked like an older version of Dan Quale? No matter...BANG! Schedule an eye exam ol' dead eye... Anyway, Pgardn made a valid point on a different thread about having religious fanatics take over and run a country. Looks like 150 graduates of Pat Robertson's have some say in ours. ---One of his most noteable screeds, penned in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, described a bright spot in the destruction of New Orleans. "We do not grieve, however, for the flooded and destroyed sex clubs that filled men with lust and degraded women," David wrote. "We do not miss the casinos that preyed upon individuals whose lack of self-control deprived families of needed food and shelter. We do not lament the destruction of voodoo stores prevalent in New Orleans before the flood----
that was from the article dts just posted a link to--makes you wonder if the crawling speed of aid to new orleans is partly explained by views such as that above. didn't robertson and other televangelists say that the hurricane was 'divine punishment'--that god was trying to punish new orleans?! so much for the promise by god in the bible that he would never cause another flood--a dichotomy for sure. certainly mississippis aid was quicker-that can't be argued. they suffered less damage, but got federal funding so much faster. altho some suggest that was due to miss being rep-led, while La is dem-led, but this is certainly a plausible explanation as well. certainly i would consider it part of the equation. and i don't sleep better at night knowing our foreign policy is predicated in part by the belief by many that israel is the chosen people, and that when/if israel falls, the world will end. wonderful, great to know that logic and reasoning have such a part in decision-making! i feel comfort every time a pol says 'god told me'. such ego--what must be wrong with me, since god tells me nothing?! all these special people with a hotline direct to the Big Guy.

I'll start this post with a big thank you to the moderator that deleted a recent post which clearly violated the "code of conduct". The homophobe should have been shown the exit door long ago, in my humble opinion.
Although I am not a homosexual, his blatant attack on another board member was easily seen to be another attempt to hijack a thread for whatever misguided purpose. Please note that I have not used any names. Now...back to the topic. Seems that this link might be of interest to the bashers. http://www.alternet.org/rights/50139/ |
