Default TV action stars

I've been following a poll at another site of female action stars, found it interesting. Of course there are a million male action stars, my favorites would be Angel and Spike but I suspect the likes of Superman, Batman, Six Million Dollar Man, Jack Bauer, Frank Black, Sky King, Zorro etc would get a lot of votes. The list of top female action stars includes the following...I wonder how many of these folks recognize and could place with their show:
Jaime Sommers
Buffy Summers
Sydney Bristow
Charlie's Angels (Ok, that's a dead giveaway)
Xena
Emma Peel
Max Guevara
Wonder Woman (duh)
Christie Love
Cagney and Lacey (duh again)
The Halliwell sisters
Nikita

Not bad Buffy, you missed the hard ones...
Jaime Sommers was the Bionic Woman
Emma Peel was on The Avengers
Max Guevara was the lead character on Dark Angel
Christie Love was the lead on Get Christie Love

I could add many more to their list:
Faith, Cordy, Willow, Gabrielle, but I found their list interesting. BTW, Buffy leads with over 50% of the vote, Xena and Wonder Woman battle for second around 15%.

A harder list would be female action type villains (not rich socialites that spoil lives with rumor and sleep around which is the sterotype), I suspect Glory would be high on your list, I say these would be my top 5:
1) Callisto
2) Lucy Butler
3) Lillah Morgan
4) Glory
5) Alti

LOL, yeah...I thought you watched that show! Her last name wasn't spoken that often, maybe that threw you off!

No, I think it was Michael Weatherly! He is #2 on my "YOU HAVE PERMISSION" list.

OH I should start a thread...

I agree that he was special, he and Max made a great couple (in real life too), I was thinking (along with my female villains list) of which couples I'd rank as the best...they certainly belong on the list somewhere.

Buffy and ANGEL (NOT SPIKE) belong at #1.

Well, I guess it depends on how you rate a relationship, in drama, relationships seldom last long...writers feel the story line quickly becomes boring. Joss is famous for that...certainly Buffy and Angel endured better than most but in my opinion, Angel was always too willing to sacrifice the love of his life for the so-called "greater good". It made good drama but when you consider how many relationships Angel had (Buffy, Cordy, Darla were major ones), not sure I'd rank that one above Wesley/Fred, Willow/Tara or Angel/Cordy let alone Spike/Buffy. To me, one relationship stands alone in terms of commitment, endurance and depth of love...Xena and Gabrielle.

Glory and Faith, I mean I love Faith more than I do Buffy. I think in a fight Sydney Bristow would kick Buffy's ass

They actually had voting on a couple comic sites pitting super heros against each other...Buffy defeated Superman to win one poll, she finished high up in the other. Problem defeating Buffy was she always found a way...even against Glory and The First. All super hero types always win of course, but Buffy and Xena were two who always out-thought their enemies....fun topic! I'd say that those two would be the toughest to beat though.

I can't believe Starbuck didn't make the list. And what about Wilma Deering, even though they made her a wimp in the 2nd season?

There were a lot that didn't make the list, they actually listed Rosie as a joke, I removed her and added the Halliwell sisters and Nikita but there are others of course. To me, it comes down to Buffy and Xena with Buffy slightly ahead. The villains list is a lot harder but much love here for Callisto!

But her role wasn't to kick ass...I love Veronica Mars but she's not an action star.
