![]() DRF is not listing the Ward 2 yo as the track record holder for 4 1/2 furlongs. The records have been updated recently and she is NOT listed. Has the phony time finally been exposed?

The track feed had One Hot Wish's final time orignally at 50.12---however, there is almost no way that she wasn't by far the fastest winner of a 2yo race at that meet. |

![]() Isn't Trakus supposed to make times more accurate?

Now, the following day, I also DVR'ed the KEE replay show, they showed the race without the Trackus chicklets, and fractions were posted in 21.45, 43.05, and the final time was posted in 48.87 Mike Battaglia than says it's a world record, and that two different sources have confirmed the time of 48.87 is accurate. |

20 1/5th second for a quarter mile in a preview is unheard of. At Fasig-Tipton Feb, the fastest 1/4 mile work ever recorded was Tiz Wonderful's 20 3/5ths. At Barretts March, the fastest time ever recorded was What A Song's 20 3/5ths. The fastest quarter mile ever recorded in the history of the OBS sales was Afrashad's 20 3/5ths....at KEE April on dirt the fastest time ever recorded was Day Pass's 20 3/5ths. You didn't find it a little suspcious to see THREE horses work faster than 20 3/5ths? |

IMO, It's not exactly something anyone should take seriously. But, I certainly agree with you in general, that it would be nice if all times are accurate...world record or not. |

![]() I hear ya....but 20 1/5ths, which two horses ran at the preview, is obviously an impossible time to achieve on a natural dirt surface.
Tiz Wonderful, Afrashad, Day Pass, and What A Song were all brilliantly fast Graded Stakes winners...and they makeup the handful of horses to achieve a 20 3/5th clocking. The ultra-hyped Sea of Pleasure, who broke a track record at Santa Anita going 2 furlongs a few months ago, won his race by 4+ plus lengths, in 20.78 seconds, getting the last furlong in 9 3/5ths, and allegedly galloping out 3 furlongs in 32 seconds flat. After his workout at KEE, just yesterday it was reported he's injured. I guess what I'm saying is that if I have to believe two horses could work a 1/4 mile in 20 1/5th over that surface---I guess I have to believe that One Hot Wish ran her 4.5 furlongs in 48.87 over that nutty surface---as she certainly put on a show in that race. Of course, If I had a stop-watch handy, I'd hand time the race...as 4.5 furlong races are one of the easier races to hand-time off of a tv. |

![]() I just used my IPod to handtime it -- and timed it several times. From the 4.5 furlong pole right after the start to the finish -- I couldn't get a timing that would justify her running in under 49.
Not being an expert in hand-timing races, take that for what it's worth -- but Even when I jumped the gun slightly on the finish one time I clocked it, it still came in over the stated time. I'd be interested in seeing what other people hand-timing it came up with. I got closer to 50 seconds every time I did it. |

there are a bunch of media players for windows that show you the time log for a video. if someone would like to send me the video, i can actually use an editor to do a frame by frame analysis. meaning that i can find out the right frame to start it, the right frame to end it, and subtract the difference. pretty simple. |
