To whoever says it's a worthless dump that needs slots...

That might be true, but it's also good for hosting something else beside the Preakness-

That's a pretty f'n sweet lineup, and they're going head to head with Lollapalooza the same weekend in Chicago.

Both fests have a great lineup, but I personally like Virgin's a little better. I will say that DAFT PUNK, who is headlining Lollapalooza this year, IS AMAZING LIVE. I saw them at Coachella last year. IF YOU'RE IN THE CHICAGO AREA, GO TO LOLLA! You don't wanna miss those guys... much less Pearl Jam, Muse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Roots, Modest Mouse, etc etc etc.

A couple of bootleg clips for your enjoyment

I am sure that alot of the tracks, especially those without slots, will finally start to embrace holding other events on site. I really wanted to see The Stones at Churchill last year, but couldn't make it...

the who?

wow... It's kinda interesting this year. It seems like most of the headliners are established rock bands, while there are a lot of really good djs and electronic artists mixed in.

I am REALLY surprised to see the SMASHING PUMPKINS in Maryland and not at Lollapalooza. You would think that they would want to rock Chicago first as Billy is from here.

Speaking of the Pumpkins, if none of you have heard Machina II, the 25 songs that they released and essentially told their record company to GFT, it is right here. It is widely distributed at the time, and I have a CD copy of it, it was never officially released, I guess 15 copies were passed out, and these people were told to 'do what you want with it' meaning give it to all fans any way possible....

If you like Daft Punk, then you should check out LCD Soundsystem and Shout Out Out Out Out. Highly recommended.
