Henrythenavigator
Wow, wow wow,
won the first 7f 2yo maiden over here so easily... He's by Kingmambo out of the very useful mare Sequoyah.. 14/1 for next years 2000 Guineas... could be a superstar.. a note to add that Coolmore have made a great start to the 2yo season. Warsaw and Achilles of Troy look like smart colts too.

He was real impressive, they like him a lot.
Achilles of Troy looks like a real speedster in the making, he clocked 59.14 with the upmost of ease at Newmarket, i would have thought the Coventry will be the next step for this fella. watch out for the Dietrich colt they have, they like him a lot too. He's another Kingmambo. |

Yeah, that is the name i have been given for the Dietrich colt, Nikolaivichtolstoy.
Greatwallofchina has been mentioned also but i think they changed his name from that to the one above. You might be right though. |

Wetherbys has the Dietrich colt named as Greatwallofchina, but apparantly, they are constantly renamed until the actually race.. a great colt to look out for..

The latest name i have heard is the Russian name, and as far as i'm aware they changed it from greatwallofchina. But as you say, no matter what it's name is lets hope he is a bit special...... from what i've been told, he might just be that. The Giant's Causeway - Onima colt has apparently been named Historical Giant |

Henry to the Coventry from the racingpost: I can't wait.. from the post
ROYAL ASCOT is set to start off with a bang with one of the most impressive two-year-olds of the season, the Aidan O'Brien-trained Henrythenavigator, putting his reputation on the line in the Coventry Stakes. Among those likely to take on the unbeaten Ballydoyle hope will be the resurgent Peter Chapple-Hyam, who boasts a 44 per cent strike rate with his two-year-olds this season, and will run Orientalist Art. Henrythenavigator, a seven-length winner on his debut over 7f at Gowran Park and already 10-1 favourite for the 2,000 Guineas with Ladbrokes, will head the O'Brien challenge. The trainer, who has sent out four winners of the 6f event but none since Statue Of Libetry in 2002, has left five in the race at the six-day stage, said on Wednesday: “The plan is to run Henrythenavigator and maybe one or two others.” Derby winning trainer Chapple-Hyam, who saddled Dutch Art to win last year's Norfolk Stakes, has trained four juvenile winners from nine starts but is likely to keep his better known performers for other targets, despite also entering Declaration Of War and Winker Watson in Tuesday's Royal Ascot curtain-raiser. The Group 2 race features 37 entries and has a strong representation from Ireland, including the unbeaten Tracey Collins-trained Pencil Hill, top on Racing Post Ratings. Declaration Of War has won both starts, the latest a Listed victory at Epsom on Derby day, while Winker Watson impressed when winning a Newbury maiden winner. Orientalist Art was a beaten favourite when second to Luck Money at Newmarket last month. Chapple-Hyam said: “I'm not sure what I'm doing but Orientalist Art will probably be my only runner.” “I will wait and see what the entries for the Norfolk Stakes are like but Winker Watson will probably go there. Declaration Of War is only likely to run if something goes wrong with Orientalist Art.” “Orientalist Art is pretty good but he has got ground to make up with the Paul Cole horse Luck Money. The royal meeting gets harder every year but I am very happy with the horse.” Luck Money, who finished two and a half lengths ahead of Orientalist Art, will be attempting to win a fourth Coventry Stakes for Cole. Pencil Hill, who has won both his starts, beat O'Brien's subsequent Group 3 winner You'resothrilling when landing a 5f Listed race at the Curragh last month. Successful over 6f at Naas on his debut, Pencil Hill will be ridden by Pat Shanahan and will be a first Royal Ascot runner for his trainer, who will also be represented by Dandy Man in the King's Stand Stakes35 minutes later. “Pencil Hill is very well and we're looking forward to running him on Tuesday “ said Collins. Coventry entry Achilles Of Troy, a five-length winner at Newmarket before finishing onlyfourth behind Pencil Hill at the Curragh, willrepresent Aidan O'Brien in the Windsor Castle Stakes, in which there are 41 entries, with stablemate Warsaw, winner of both his starts and also in the Coventry, likely to wait for the Norfolk Stakes.

Do you think it will matter stepping him back in trip? That would be my only concern with Henry.
He looked like an exceptional horse when making his debut, but that race wasn't the best. For me i'd be looking at Pencil Hill who is unbeaten and already a listed race winner over five and judging by both of his win, six should should him even better than five. The form if the listed race was boosted when You'resothrilling won a Gr3 next time. If i have a bet, i will probably take him. |

yeah, the drop back is a big concern for me. i never like seeing it for a juvenile and only the really good ones seems to be able to handle it, esp this early in the season.. Pencil Hill's time was very quick at the Curragh last time and he easily coped with the step down to 5f as I thought he needed every inch of 6f the last time.. It'll be interesting to see what colours he races in come Ascot..

I really like the look of Pencil Hill actually, he has most in his favour and he already has some black type. Henry might turn out to be top class, but he will be underbet in the Coventry through hype and connections. He might just be very good, but i won't be betting him at a stupid price in a competitive race. I think Luck Money will run very well, too. Did you see his debut at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago? He did it the hard way from the front and looked very professional in doing so. Paul Cole knows what it takes to win this and judging my what connections said after he won, this has been the target for a very long time. I might put him and Pencil Hill in a reverse exacta. I will probably be in London next Tuesday, so i might not get to see it |

It's a superb race to start off Ascot as there are so many unexposed horses.. Yeah I saw Luck Money's win and was quite impressed. He's interesting as well as any from Chapple Hyam..
PH is still owned by Mrs Collins but they mentioned straight after his listed win that he was for sale and would listen to offers.. I wouldnt at all be surprised if he's in Haya's colours on Tuesday

Well, that is a shame....... he looks an exciting prospect and i find it strange they want to sell him at this early stage. At the end of the day, whether it Shiekh Mo, Godolphin or Princess Haya..... they are all basically being bought by Darley |

I suppose Pencil Hill is a fair price actually. What do you think? I'd be happy with 7/1, i think.

Very impressed with that win in the Coventry, apparently he's as low as 7-1 for the 2000 Guineas with some bookmakers at the moment. That race is a long way away of course, but at the moment he looks a class above his opposition.
I notice though that Achilles of Troy was mentioned in the same breath as Henry earlier in the thread...he seems to have fallen from grace since then, his performance in the Windsor Castle was extremely disappointing. Warsaw was another one mentioned, will be interesting to see how he runs today. |

yeah, its hard to judge alot of O'Briens juveniles first time out as they tend to improve alot for their 1st run, but Henry looked great first up and managed to step down in trip to beat alot of smart horses at Ascot. Achilles of Troy looked very good at newmarket but the form didnt quite work out as well as one would hope and he didnt run well at the Curragh or Ascot. He may have some sort of niggling problem or he may not be as good as one first thought..
Warsaw is interesting as the Irish form looks very very strong at the moment and he could do very well (but probably isnt as good as Henry)
