RIP...I didn't agree with his positions for the most part and I feel the philosophy he promoted was harmful to this nation but he was a man of principle and I will at least respect that.

And...it doesn't go unnoticed how some folks take any opportunity to slam Jesse Jackson. Not sure how that applies here but certainly not unexpected.

It's not public yey but I'm starting my own religous University.
The Sent 2 Stud College of Biblical Knowledge. No altar boys. In fact, no altar. We'll be using strippers and a pole. Signed, Reverend Stud p.s. RIP Rev Jerry. For good or bad, a man of determined principles. |

All true! Besides abortion, I can't think of a single area of agreement that I have with him...perhaps if I looked closely, I'd find something.

Of course my thoughts are for his family in their time of loss.
As for me...I won't miss him at all. He did his best, devoted his life, to misrepresent everything that Jesus was about. I'd like to see what happens when he shows up in the "judgement seat" and he hears the words "I do not know you". Elevator down, Jerry. Burn forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

well, whenever someone put up a thread (such as the one about ford) i always was a bit bothered that someone would post critical thoughts in such a thread, and at such a time.
so i'll just say that i hope falwell finds peace in repose.

It's ok. It really is. I got over it. In all honesty, I've only known one good "Jerry". It wasn't a Ford, a Bailey, or a Fallwell. It was my pet rat. He grew to be 18 inches long before he died of old age. I miss him so much. The grave I dug for him was over eight feet deep. Now...for the other Jerry graves....I'll have to drink a six-pack before I visit them and hope my bladder holds out until the last one is finished. PIP (piss in peace) |

I don't rejoice over anyone dying, but I do hope that in coverage of his passing the news outlets will portray him for what he really was and the things he said and the things he stood for instead of painting him as a real nice guy.
I admire his discipline to stay true to what he believes, even if I found most of it disgusting. |
