Some very odd rides this evening. Talamo takes back on a speed horse despite very pedestrian fractions.

He's Garcia's mentor.

I made that up, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm not the fan of Talamo that most are. He's got a lot to learn in terms of judging pace, yet. That race being a classic example... no reason to take back off of a 23 & 46 2/5 pace

Price Tag being hammered at the windows with 23MTP - She obviously has a big shot, but Koiuta and Lady of Venice are more than capable

What do we make of all these Japanese horses in the 5th? Or should we even worry about them?

Koiuta, her form looks like she started as an early 3yo with promise beating top filly Asahi Rising and was favored over her. Plenty of gaps and bad loses, but she's now a Group 1 winner. She would not be shipped over if she wasn't well meant.

The 4 is a serious horse. 16-1 is ridiculous!

I think Kiss to Heaven is their best shot

Wouldnt be shocked at all to see them run 1 2 with any of the three, but thats my favorite of the group

Is every horse in Japan a descendant of the great Sunday Silence now??

I don't know anything about these jockeys though, Uchida jumped from KTH to Koiuta. I'm sticking with the home team. Dancing Edie looks live, she rode the rail last time and the 6 in the 3rd race nearly wired the field. I'm doing a 1-5-6 tri box. I can't leave Raffy out.

And more so on tonight's ridiciulousness, playing games, trying to look cute for all of Japan who is watching on TVG.

One a brighter note, I have downloaded the new Smashing Pumpkins CD, PRETTY GOOD. Really surprising quite honestly.

I like the Aussie filly tomorrow, but the only filly I give a shot to beat her is the Robe Decollete
