Since I know at least one person one here ( Arl Jim..don't bail on me now) I'll say this...umm...Al Gore..Love him or hate him or indifferent, should be our President right now. Or at least or former President. I think he should get creds for how close he got and how many people he got to vote for him. As far as Bush goes, even if you support him ( ouch), you have to admit that he has does nothing to help the environment. He even admits as much. He denies there is a problem. So if you think there is a problem, then you can't say Bush helped the cause. If you don't think there is a problem..then..well vote for Jenna when she turns 35, or whatever that age is

You know the country is in the shitter when people think Al Gore is a better option than what we've got right now.

The end is near.

And that's why you think the country is in the shitter?

I like the (*)..touche..

It's the classic Left vs Right...Never a winner. But..since I am engaging the infamous PP...Back to the subject at hand..Is global warming urban myth or real? And I'm really not that hung up on it..Just feel that Gore isn't an idiot and deserves his audience. But..that may be too much of a stretch

In regards to his beliefs on war....Yes. Other stuff? Not sure. Basically both parties are owned by lobbyists so it's really troublesome for me to pick a candidate.

Global Warming caused by humans? We might contribute a small percentage to it, but I really believe the sun is the main culprit. Notice it's been quite active the past few years.

War?? Agree to disagree..But maybe the sun wouldn't be such an issue if we had an ozone layer left. And I hate saying crap like that because it does border on tree hugger status, but, I don't think you can hide from it.

And yes...lobbyists, the primary starting 2 years early, all a joke.

Pillow,
I'll stay out of the rest of it, as you probably know what I'd say anyway.
On this, "Notice it's been quite active the past few years."
I'd say that it has been for about the past 4 1/2 billion.
The CO2 in the atmosphere is the highest it's been in the past 10,000 years.

I like Gore because he invented the internet, and his kid isnt scared to get caught high and speeding. Makes him seem more American to me. That being said Id never vote for a Dem.

Yeah you're right...I noticed it was pretty active back in 413,100 B.C. during one of my former lives as a hominid.

Gore is an idiot. Bush has royally f*cked up.

I think Kay Bailey Hutchinson and myself need to be the next duo that occupies the White House

Gbbob- I’ve got news for you Gore lost the election. Numerous recounts by parties like the NY Times confirmed it. It was extremely close but he lost. Why do you say he should have won? He should have won if he got more votes than Bush in Florida. He didn't.

Dahoss- as bad as Bush is I’m much more comfortable with him than I would have been with Gore. I have a real distaste for Gore and would not want him for commander in chief.

I feel about the Live Earth concert sorta like Chris Rock who said "I pray that this event ends global warming the same way that Live Aid ended world hunger,"
I never understood how simply having a concert solves anything, even if the goal is as simple drawing attention to the issue.

What they have drawn attention to is themselves and how they’re hypocrites. The jet-setting global stars that put this on are the poster children for energy waste.
Metallica. Snoop Dogg, Madonna? What is the message here? How does this translate into anything to fight global warming?

It's all about this guy being hot now, and his quest to stay relevant.

ArlJim,
Both sides' views are in this article.
Generating awareness, successful.
Solving the problem, no.
Gore? No comment from me.

the temperature has also gone up on mars (is our pollution drifting?) which would fit in with the theory of it being the sun.

I still don't understand how Gore can make everyone drink the Kool-Aid when he is the biggest hypocrit when it comes to energy consumption.

I am totally cereal on this, too...
