Come home safe, pretty boy. No shame in being 3rd to those two BUT we shall see.

Miss Andretti / APACHE / Goldie (perhaps...)

The others might as well stay home and watch it on tv.

Mooney valley is my fav track ,great for spectators & stable staff alike ,
I think of it like the Nascar brickyard 500.
Its like a superbowl unfortunately if you are in the first 2 gates you either have to go forward at the begining which you dont want to be in a distance race or scrub it up & hang out the back & come around , which is possible in distance races but not for the 1200 or 1400, You can stay were you are but you have to hope there is a openining where you can move out & with the quality of jockeys i couldnt see this happening.
In the end its a great race & anyone can win it, i've never picked the winner in it ,but if it was my horse i wouldnt be excited about drawing barrier 1

Hope this is not true but it would explain his trial form

Apache Cat out of Scheweppes.
He has a bruised hock,so this race now turns into a bit of a letdown for the Moonee Valley racing club,as there maybe only 6 horses to run now after Bird Dancer raced at Geelong today.

Cat out of Schweppes clash
Story By Jason Hickson

Wednesday, 24 October 2007: The much awaited return class of top mares Miss Finland and Gold Edition in Saturday's Group 2 Schweppes Stakes is looking more like a match race with Apache Cat ruled out.

The popular Greg Eurell-trained galloper was set to return in the 1200m race at Moonee Valley but has bruised a hock and won't be 100 per cent.

A frustrated Eurell said the injury was very minor but won't be running Apache Cat against the top mares when not at his best.

“He'll be alright – he's just kicked out at something and knocked himself,” Eurell said.

“There's a little bruising and he'll get over a quickly but it couldn't have come at a worse time.

“I was really looking forward to seeing him take on the two good mares but won't be doing it when he's not 100 per cent.”

Eurell said Apache Cat will have some light work over the next few days then be aimed at the Group 2 The Age Classic (1200m) up the straight at Flemington on Emirates day.

Following his run at Flemington Apache Cat will go into quarantine at Sandown then head to Hong Kong in early December for the Cup meeting.

Nooooooooooooooo!

That's a shame.

At least we know he'll be okay so I guess we should try to see the bright side.

Thanks for the news.

Damn.

Who we backing tonight?

I'm leaning towards Divine Madonna, but they aren't closing from the back like at the Heath.

Maybe Lad Of The Manor...

Not sure yet.

Anyone else firing?

that damn El Segundo just went off at 8-1 here in America.

I didn't even have a tickle on him.

I'm sick to my stomach.

Ended up on Divine Madonna and then pushed some through on Haradasun at 4-1.

I'm glad for El Segundo and you, but I'm sorry I forgot about how dominating he is.

Anybody else see Devil Moon wringing her tail around the first turn? Does she usually do that? I haven't seen her other races so I don't know. My first thought was "She's not interested in this today."
