That's funny free breeding to Graded mares or Graded producers. I bet that will get them over to SK fast and furious..Who would breed a graded producer to SK other then Farmer and friends of Farmer.
I have no clue if he will be a big time sire but why not Pennsy instead of Ky?

I think just not as common to advertise it.

I doubt they will get very many mares that meet the criteria to breed to him... and even so, if you have a graded stakes winning mare or a graded stakes producing mare like that, not many breeders would want to cheapen the page of the mare and lower the produce sales of her subsequent foals by breeding to a 10k stud.

I love Sun King, but he's a son of Charismatic and it's not likely that he'll do much as a stallion IMO.

Well he's in a profession now that encourages hangers.

Amirite?

Oh boy...

Well, I hope he goes out with a bang and not a 'hang' and gets that ever elusive G1 in the Cigar Mile.

Crap... now I have to go out and freeze at Aqueduct to see his last race... I hope he gets the G1, also.

With cheaper stallions it is not unusual. If you had a graded stakes producing mare would Sun King be on your list? If you have a strong enough mare you'd be surprised who you can get to for a lot less than the published fee.

What I find interesting about this is that what happens if SK goes on a 2 race win streak, does Farmer pull this offer and raise the stud fee or was this announcement more of tryout for him, to give people the idea, then see him run, and then say, "Hell, lets give it a try"

Interesting marketing right there

Bring on the best ladies, and we'll get it on for free.
