Default A vent: Temp agencies

Many know here that I am back in school getting my accounting degree. I have three more classes and I am done in May. For the last couple months I have been looking for an accounting job to gain some experience before I go for my CPA license. All these 'temp agencies' are telling me they need experience to 'sell me' to clients.

NEWS ****ING FLASH people, I can't get experience WITHOUT A opportunity to WORK a JOB. Give me a f'n chance.

I find it so hard to believe that I am about to be double degree'd (marketing/accounting) and I can't even get a $15 an hour f'n job......

Getting real frustrating and tired with this ****.

You fool...companies pay temp agencies, etc.,to provide them with ........experience!!

You must do this thing on your own.

Findinig someone connected to get you in is the best way.

But don't expect 100 large a year if you have no practical experience. What are they teaching in colleges these days anyways???

Those temp agencies make a pretty penny for bought employees too. I went through a temp for my current job and they had to pay several grand to the agency to buy out my contract.

I know Morty, I am far from expecting 100k a year. I have been looking at Monster/Careerbuilder and everything I contact is garbage.

I didn't use a temp agency and I ran into the same problem after college. Tons of job openings for people with two years experience yet no apparent way to find a job to get those two years of experience. It is probably why so many people are going to grad school. Hang in there, you'll find something.

I am going to go all Michael Douglas on these people if they don't at least listen to me.....I just had one go after I told her I did a little A/P work in a job a couple years ago "Have you been an Accounting clerk, Staff accountant, Collections specialist, etc, etc" in this real snippy way and then she goes "I am going to transfer you to our office division, ala secretary, and I was like "Listen, I appreciate the offer but I am OVER qualified for that stuff, and given your attitude I wouldn't want to be involved with your company anyways" CLICK!!!

Oh am I in a mood right now. So much fun...

That's the first step you have learned....fucl< these people who merely treat you as ground meat.

Yes...I said fucl< them.

Take pleasure by letting them know what you think of them and keep thinking on your own. I'm serious. Keep thinking about what you want that is immediate and within reason...and you will find the answer.

You will.

Monster and CB are a colossal waste of time.

Do it yourself...flood the market...find out the key people...be relentless....keep thinking.
