not often do you see a horse go from the Arc to a Tampa Bay allowance race three races later.

And get Vanquished.

The horse was stratched the other day, but the race was taken off the turf, so, a reasonable assumption would've been that the horse had some ability (left).

Not only didn't he run but watching him in the run to the 1st turn (on the wrong lead, climbing/stumbling/bumbling) I wondered whether the horse had actually been on ANY track the past year, let alone one with left turns. He might've been given the race and can come back and be okay but this was ONE DISMAL EFFORT by HORSE and CONNECTIONS.

On the plus side, while Velez was listed on the horse saturday, Cedeno got the leg up today. Which meant that he couldn't **** UP Vanquisher the way he did last out. As it was, Vanquisher was OFF THE PACE under Velez, as he should be under any NON RETARDED jockey, got a nice trip, and got it done at 7:1.

It's a give and take game.
