Default What do you all think of cockfighting?

Just interested in responses before I share my views and involvement/non involvement in it

I think its ok and its certainly not on the same level as dog fighting, its also one of the old national pastimes and our founding fathers raced/bred horses and raised/fought gamefowl.

This is on it's way to esoteric central. . . What's the difference between dog fighting and cock fighting in your opinion?

I would like to see PETA try and go in and break up an evening.

The founding fathers also had slaves...what are your thoughts on that?

Is this thread even serious?

This trolling gets a D-

I kinda figured this where it was gonna go with the thread, i even expected the whole slave comment too. In any case this is turning out to be a futile thread.

Jethro Bodine takes some babe out for drinks/dinner.

The waiter asks "Would the lady like COCKtails?"

Bodine says "Hey, wait a minute, when the lady's out with me, if she wants COCK ['chicken', actually], she gets the whole thing".

Well the one with the Chickens I saw when I was in Puerto Rico. I just sat there pretty mortified. As these birds fought to the death, these drunk spanish guys just yelled bets at each other. I didn't stay too long.

As far as the other kind, I saw it one time at summer camp.

Jerry...I have to agree with those that say just because it's part of a culture doesn't make it right...slavery was one example, female circumcision another...the list goes on forever. Granted we can't enforce our idea of morality on the world but some things are simply wrong.

I know that frosty, in the Philippines they look at it as part of the culture, celebrate the beauty of the bird and yes its a bloodsport.

Thanks for the backup Scavs I think , defintely not a troll before I fell by the wayside I was a top contributor at ESPN and I was still a bit sane at Thoroughbredtimes when they had a forum. In other words im a shell of my former self online and in life.

nope single no girlfriend and all i do with my money is gamble, if it wasnt for poker id be a total loser thanks to the horsies. Im one of the fortunate ones who can blow paycheck after paycheck on the horses and not be affected by it. When people ask me what my leak in my poker game is, I tell them horse racing.
