That's the way I'd put it, although the top two are interchangeable for me.

shoot.. what a good race this would have been... throw in an invasor.. and it could have been totally possible if there wasnt such a rush to the shed (well and if barbaro wouldnt have broken down).

I think they all have/had great talent and cannot seperate them. Curlin as a 4yo would beat them all IMO but who can know how good barbaro, berni or brown could be at that age. Brown very much reminds me of Barbaro though.

can i box it ?

Brown,Curlin,Barbaro,Bernardini

This is hard if you think about running styles. Barbaro was so game on the front end - it could take something out of Brown or vice versa.

Default Big Brown - Overrated?

Hey Guys

I was wondering what you all think of the attention that Big Brown is drawing on ESPN coverage and other horseracing outlets in the media? He has clearly toyed with every field that he has been put up against. I cannot take anything away from this horse. I guess the question to be answered is how the competition he has been forced to face will taint his legacy if he does win the Belmont? That Preakness Field was the worst TC field I have ever seen. What do you guys think?

Everyone bitched and moaned that Run Dusty Run and Sanhedrin were mutts when Seattle Slew won the Triple Crown, now we hear the same stuff with Big Brown. With Slew, all questions were answered in his 4 year old year while we will probably never be able to see whether Big Brown is beating up on tomato cans or is truly exceptional. I'm not going to worry about comparing generations. I'm just enjoying his run at history, in spite of my personal feelings about his human connections. (save for Desormeaux).

Doesn't seem like a fair question, mainly because we've seen Curlin run as an older horse and we never will see the other three do the same.

I don't think its fair to put Barbaro on this list because of the unknowns, but I think Curlin would have eaten Berni alive and Curlin v. Invasor would be a serious horse race. Big Brown is more Berni than the others right now.

Hello Munster705

My name is THE_FAT_MAN and I'm am a FAT MAN from Brooklyn. I love to eat, sit around the house in my underwear eating, sweating, and drinking beer and interacting with my friends at DT. Oh, and I prefer THIN women.

Just in case you're NOT either a computer generated post or some DOOFUS looking for attention, might you know of some women in my area, BROOKLYN, that would be interested in dating a FAT MAN?

Thank You very much, Munster705

none of this is fair or important, and its all subjective for the most part. its just the kind of stuff we pass the time with on forums like this.

That's the frustrating thing to me. He very well could be the next Seattle Slew but he'll never get the chance to prove it against older horses like Slew did. Makes it tough for me to get excited about him winning the Triple Crown. For the next Triple Crown winner I want one of three things; to be a 2yo champion, to run freakishly fast figures, or to run past three. The last one won't happen unless it is a gelding and Big Brown doesn't fit the first two.

I've decided to leave to posterity the determination of BB's place in posterity. If he wins the Triple Crown, I will be there to see it, I will always remember it, and it will be pretty cool, regardless of how he ranks in the pantheon of the greats.

I am torn about this. I would like to see a TC winner, but I cannot stand Rick Dutrow. Every time I see him on TV I wanna punch him in the face. Ill be pulling for someone else to beat him in the Belmont, not because of the horse, but because of the trainer.

I respectfully Disagree. I still dont feel berni liked CD all that much.. and invasor had age and experience over him. I honestly feel (and I'm sure that most disagree) that if berni and invasor raced against each other mulitple times Berni would have won more times.
