I'm looking at BB to win for $200.00 and possibly $100.00 exacta on BB and Denis of Cork. If I win, that might cover summer air-conditioning and one tank of gas.
Put it all on the BB- Casino Drive Exacta. All $300. Personally I am boxing the two for $200 and hoping Casino Drive wins and it pays in the $20 range.

Denis of Cork and all the other are too slow to beat either Casino Drive or Big Brown.

Big Brown and Casino Drive are a lock to run 1-2 with a 15-20% shot CD beats BB.

If you are someone who bets really chalky horses, which I am not, try a 3 horse parlay. Benny the Bull, Indian Blessing, Big Brown. $300 might get you back $1000.

All I know is if you put $ 200 to win on Big Brown at the Preakness, you got back $40. The odds for Big Brown will be even lower at the Belmont, so if you're looking to score $100 for a tank of gas, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Excuse my lack of knowledge on Exactas. If I were to bet part of my money on Big Brown and Casino Drive in a box? OK but what do I say word for word to the person at the ticket window so I don't look like an idiot. I don't mind looking like an idiot here since no one can see me

Have you thought about taking the $300.00 and putting it in a Pick-6 ticket ?

Go up to the Teller, say Belmont Race 11, $100 exacta box (or however much you want to make it), then say 1-5 and they will place it.

If you do a $100 exacta box it will cost $200. When you box two horses for a certain amount of money you double that to get your final cost. hope this helps a little.

Big Brown is now a certain 1-9 even if Casino Drive runs. Save your money.

Just so you know.. There is NO WAY a CD/BB exacta is paying $20. BB/CD will pay $5 and CD/BB will pay $10, maybe $11.

Yes it would. Denis of Cork, Tale of Ekati, and CD would all be around $20. There are many more CD skeptics than believers. The chalky exacta is and was going to be the BB-DOC exacta. That is where all the smart money is going.

Now the BB-CD exacta could be as much as $15 and the CD-BB exacta probably $40.

What I never understood is that when you invest in the stock market or buy a CD most people would be happy to get a 5% return on their investment. But when it comes to horse racing, us gamblers wouldn't touch a 5% return if it came up and bit us.

I have no clue what the exacta will pay on Belmont Day. It is really hard to say. Spectacular Bid won the Preakness at 1-10 odds and the exacta that day paid $36.60, the tri paid $336.80, and the super paid $1,192.30.

If I was betting an exacta and had $300, I would take $60 exacta wheel with BB over 5 horses. I would make sure that each horse would pay enough to where I could break even.

Because virtually no horse has that great of a chance to win. Too many things can happen.

I had no idea the super in '79 paid that high.

You meant Big Brown.

On the win I agree with you. The odds are much better for a horse to come in the top 3. All you need is for your horse to finish 3rd. If the horse pays $2.10 to show. You have made 5% on your money. I don't know. When it comes to racing I am not happy unless I at least double my bet .
