Why did Sarah Palin, an Idaho born/Alaskan raised girl, leave the University of Hawaii after two weeks, because it rained. I think two weeks in a college semester is too long to get your money for the semester refunded. Someone ate that bill.

I gave her a chance, but everything points to her being a bit of a dim wit

Why Mike you are starting to sound like an elitist

No, I'm not an elitist. I'm not sure what classification I'd have in that regard

My education was one of developing critical thinking skills, rather than one of indoctrination

Or as Jon Stewart said:

Doesn’t elite mean good? Is that not something we’re looking for in a president anymore? … The job you’re applying for — if you get it, and it goes well, they might carve your head into a mountain. If you don’t actually think you are better than us, then what the f@*k are you doing?

My mistake..you are just being a liberal and that you are true to yourself is very much respected.

I disagree that we should keep picking from this "elite" class or school type of people. If we do indeed want change it will not come from selecting and voting from the same moron types over and over again.

Maybe when Bush leaves office the "love -hate" can end and all this black/white thinking can end....for the real truth usually lies somewhere in-between.

these are some of the things i don't like about the republicans and their ultra right, and in this case, their vp nominee:

Gov. Sarah Palin’s church is promoting a conference that promises to convert gays into heterosexuals through the power of prayer.
“You’ll be encouraged by the power of God’s love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality,” according to the insert in the bulletin of the Wasilla Bible Church, where Palin has prayed for about six years.

Palin’s conservative Christian views have energized that part of the GOP electorate, which was lukewarm to John McCain’s candidacy before he named her as his vice presidential choice. She is staunchly anti-abortion, opposing exceptions for rape and incest, and opposes gay marriage and spousal rights for gay couples.

My upbringing was middle class, my father was a union worker(plumber, pipe/steamfitter). I was the only child that didn't go to a tech college, I went to a very small, very liberal school(Marlboro College)

Perhaps when I refer to the "masses", I sound like I'm not part of them. I am, and need to give credit that there are bright and dim witted people in each of the social classes

When I worked doing swimming pools in the Hamptons and Montauk, I encountered "class" for the first time. There was no question I was the working class, a servant to the owners

Add to the above possibly promoting the teaching of creationism in Science classrooms in Alaska. I am still looking this up. We are getting ready for a battle right now in Texas on this very issue.

A complete waste of time and money by our idiotic board of education.

I prayed & prayed that I would hit the CA Lotto...I didn't...God hates me.

I think the Homosexuals are safe...but if I do hit the Lotto, I will report back for then the Homosexuals might be in trouble.

Oh, I also prayed that my Cat (not the one in my Avatar) would not die...she did...my prayer record sucks!

See, this woman has a story behind her that doesn't just go away. It isn't like opening a can of soda. It's like peeling an orange(always more interesting with each removed layer.) She isn't giving interviews, and that means the press has to go investigate her on their own. I think she better start giving some interviews. I think having a full time Methodist(and a part time Baptist) in the White House was about as far as Americans were going to go down this road. She is extreme, and that's not gunna be fixable. She needs to give interviews starting pronto, and atleast put some charm into the mess. This right here(Danzig) is an example of somebody who doesn't care which party wins, but is turned off by how extreme JOHNBOY got with his 2nd in command.

Another one who doesn't like either party, but ain't kool with the extreme side of Johnboy's 2nd in command. She's interesting, and charismatic. I see the reason he chose her, but the extreme stuff is gunna be a heavy weight to pull. Independent voters aren't that keen on the highly religious stuff(they'd already be Republicans if they were.)

Frankly, I'm most interested in a statement I heard on CNN yesterday Paul Mc...whatever (former Clinton advisor) said that while she was Gov, she cut state aid to families with "special needs" kids from 12 million to around 3 million...if true, that's a HUGE issue for me, especially after standing on the platform and announcing to parents with "special needs" kids that they would have a friend in the White House if elected. Don't know if true but he's usually pretty good with his facts! Yeah, she has such a child...but she can afford the special care...will be interesting to see if this is true...much bigger deal than selling the jet on e-bay (not), or opposing the bridge to nowhere and returning the funds (not).

a dichotomy for sure. when i was talking to someone here about religion (she's very religious-but ignores the whole treat others as your brother type thing) and she said 'you believe in the theory of evolution?' and i said that's like asking if you believe in gravity.

that's the thing...i don't believe or fall into the whole 'it's the end of the world if the reps/dems (depending on which side you're speaking of) win the thing. hopefully there are enough sane people to balance out the ultra lefts and rights in each party.

if that's true, she's a hypocrite as well. or a liar, however you wish to put it. i think a case like that would be a huge issue for a lot of people. but my question is, as governor did she sign a bill passed by the ledge? i would wonder why she would do that, but i don't think a governor has any more control over getting a bill started than a president-altho both have the power to finish it.

Didn't happen this time. If this guy has a stroke, then this lady is in charge. I don't think JOHNBOY believes :

1) gays can be coverted to straight with prayer.

2) Creationism should be taught in schools.

3) in being against allowing rape victims to have an abortion.

She is extreme(those are "ultra right" positions.)
