In this Jess Jackson is quoted as saying it took a track record and 2 horses to beat Curlin. What track record is refering to and does he know he was 4th?

It more than likely was a track record. But remember, that track has only been down for a few weeks. Have there been any other 10f races run on it?

I don't know what the record is there, (is that where Bid set the world record?) but I know Affirmed went 1:58 3/5 when he won the Big Cap. The last time I checked, that is faster than 1:59 1/5.

Of course, comparing track records between dirt and synthetic makes no sense.

the track record going in was 2:00 2/5 thats probably because only a race or 2 had been run run at the distance.

But if you think about it 1:59 1/5 is not considerably fast just look at the rest of the Synthetic races. I know it is comparing Apples to Oranges but I am certain Zenyata galloped out a 1 1/4 faster than 159.1
