![]() Surprised that Farish let Neil Howard chicken out of the Clark.
I guess he dont have a lot of confidence in his private trainer since he has won all of 11 races from 144 runners. ( 3 by Mambo in Seattle). Im fairly confident if I had Will Farishs' horses I could win at better than an 8% clip. |

![]() Mambo in Seattle ran a month ago, for what it's worth, at Keeneland. He's hardly " returning. "

![]() How quickly will a Mambo victory in the Tenacious vault him to the top of the 2009 handicap division?
Wow- that's what we're looking at next year. NT |

![]() Mambo in Seattle sooooooooo reminds me of Grasshopper it's not even funny.
Those two in a race together would be pretty cool, kinda like watching a pg1985 vs da hoss handicapping contest. |

As for him beating me, that's doubtful, and if I had a $3 lead going into the last day, I wouldn't squat like you did. Unless it was for a big cash prize instead of pride. Now that I think about it, I think we should have some sort of round robin contest on here. Every week, PG1985 gets to face off against someone different. You, me, Pants, Raggedy Ann, Andy, etc. |

![]() Wow. Mambo in Seattle.
It's akin to going to the Sports forum and finding a thread titled (11/3) Detroit: Dante Culpepper returns to the NFL! |

Actually, I wasn't taking a shot at your capping skills initially. I was making commentary on how lame the contest was between you and Joseph. Clearly you are being touchy, as evidenced by your PM to me. The only part you have right is about my opinion. The rare times I have posted my opinion on here, the results have been pretty poor. These things happen. And yeah, I did watch Ventura beat Indian Blessing!! That was a great call on your part man! As much as you keep liking to remind me about that, I sure hope you cashed large on that race. After all, it's not often you see a second or third betting choice win a race. |

If a horse loses a photo in the Travers, the highlight of his fall campaign shouldnt be a 60k overnight at the FG. I would school those guys at Paraneck also....And so would anyone with a brain and the ability to hire a good vet. Last edited by VOL JACK : 11-26-2008 at 10:05 AM. |

you kind of have to hope he wins this in a visually impressive fashion. He's one of those horses you can toss as a 2nd choice or even a favorite in a good stakes race eventually. |

![]() Albarado did a bit of race riding against Mambo in the Gold Cup. As Mambo's regular rider, I assume that he thought he was a legit rival when he rode Curlin such as to keep Mambo down inside that day. Mambo fell back but the inside was not really the place to be and Robby made him stay there.
Mambo was obviously not the same horse on the Poly at Keeneland. I think he might deserve a shot in the Clark but Howard generally uses the FG stakes program. Mineshaft and Student Council went this route as did Grasshopper last year (not that he proved to be that good....) Maybe he feels that a confidence booster is better for the horse right now than a potentially tough race.

Note the Travers is a age-restricted race, too. Are 3yos beating top class older horses like Commentator right and left? |

So are you saying that the Travers was a fluke? Or was it real and perhaps the off track in the JCGC or the synthetic of the Ben Ali weren't to his liking? Either way, the point is that if the nose had gone his way in the Travers, I don't think anyone would be suggesting that the Clark was an unrealistic spot for him but since it didn't go his way, it seems that you are suggesting that this is not the kind of race he could win. I suppose that the question I should ask you is if you would think he'd be overmatched here even if he had won the Travers?
