I think the same thing Tim. The Dodgers are much better put together for playoff baseball than the Mest are with Pedro's and Galvine's recent physical woes I have to wonder about the Mets's staff when its playoff time. I think the Dodgers are playing the best ball.
Yankees would definitely not advance past the first round if they played doubleheaders in the playoffs. Mariano wasnt available in the 2nd game last night because he pitched in the afternoon, otherwise they sweep the Tigers. Despite that they had the Tigers on the ropes in game two and shut em out in the first game. Since the wins/losses no longer matter to the Yanks, it was nice to see em still playing that well with what must be a lack of focus. They were up against it for so long, and then in a cutthroat battle, that to open up 8 games in 13 days was just incredible. Matsui has been cleared to take live batting practice(hes been soft tossing and hitting off the tee) and Sheffield is days away from taking soft tosses and tee practice. Looks like both will be wearing pinstripes at playoff time.
