Leroy Jolley/Foolish Pleasure
Tonight was the first of a new direction for Thoroughbred Legacy which will feature more in-depth horse, race or personality conversations. Leroy Jolley was featured in the discussion of Foolish Pleasure and his lead up to the Wood Memorial (April 19, 1975) after his first career loss in the Florida Derby.
I'm anxious to get your feedback about the segment and to hear what specific people, horses or events you would like to see featured. Next week, Jorge Velasquez will join me, and I've already received a request to bring Penny Chenery to the air. Jack Wittaker is a guest I've wanted to bring on as well. I really enjoyed the segment. After Big Red, Foolish Pleasure and Ruffain were my two most memorable and favorite horses from my early youth. I will always associate Mr Jolley with the green and white silks of Firestone. Look forward to more of his stories as well as the re-vamped TB Legacy.

having the people that lived the legacy tell the stories should be great radio.

i know he's not from the past, but the guy (i think his name is plank) who is trying to bring sagamore farm back to life seems to be a good choice-he's honoring the past by trying to give vanderbilts historic farm a future.
king leatherbury maybe? seems he'd have lots to tell.
