The Classic has to be the best race ever carded at C'Town.

I don't think there's any doubt of that. I would gather guys like JV, Leparoux, Cohen, Flores, etc., will be riding real races elsewhere earlier in the day, then coming on down to Charles Town for a night cap. Too bad Travis Dunkelberger is out with a busted back.

Luzzi should just stay down there, at least through Saratoga anyway. Those 4 1/2 furlong races would be right in his wheelhouse.

Shows you what some slot revenue can do. (Hint, hint, Maryland) Honestly? Charles Town is jumping on the average Saturday night because they have, I kid you not, one of the best prime rib buffets you will ever taste. Throw in some serious horse flesh, and you've got yourselves the makings of the best ever CT Saturday night that I can remember.

Sadly, after all those visits to see A Huevo, Outcashem, and Longfield Spud make their way 'round the 6f bull ring, I can't go this weekend. I stink.

Xtra Heat won a 7 furlong stake at Charles Town .. it was her only career win around two turns.

I only found that out because someone asked Illman in his blog where Fogelsonger was these days, and he produced an article on Dunkelberger. That's fair enough though, who wouldn't confuse those two names?

It's dirt in some form or fashion, though it looks a lot more like clay up close.

Didnt Ah Day just run in the carter? If so, that is awfully quick to run him again.

This surface is hard and those turns are tough and on top of that, 9f is three turns. A lot to ask of an older sprinter on two weeks rest.

I hope he comes back okay and grabs a share. He has been a nice horse for his connections.

He did win the Federico Tesio back in his 3YO season, I believe. That's 8.5f, isn't it?

Magnum trains on a 1/2 mile dirt track and David Flores has won a few riding titles at Fairplex, Interesting race.

The only thing I'd say about Ah Day is that the horse has won around two turns before, and with his running style and the Charles Town turns, this race might be right up his alley. I can't say I'm fond of seeing him come back in this spot after his recent injury issues and only two weeks rest, but King Leatherbury's been around forever and probably knows exactly what he's doing.

I'm concerned about Commentator on that track, to be honest. Love that guy and concrete Charles Town scares me with his known fragility. I trust that Zito wouldn't send him if he felt the same way, however.
