Not that this is a new problem....

7.5 horses per race Wednesday.
7.25 horses per race Thursday.

Yuck.

The thing about the SoCal circuit that I have found over the years is that even though the fields are small, in many races, there are no horses that are throw outs, any horse in the race can win. On some circuits with 12 horse fields, you can scan the past performances in ten seconds and throw out half the horses that have no chance of winning.

People still put money on those horses though. That's the beauty of this game.
