I'm alarmed at this news, really! It seemed that this young man had turned a corner in his life.....grades picked up...colleges beckoned...strong family.
And yet the central theme of his life seemed to be his extreme feelings of loneliness , and "not fitting in". Truly a tragedy for his loved ones. RIP |

If ya start at 6:00, you can see how clueless her n' her brother were. Someone like this (a person killiing themself this way) was never doing "fantastic." I guarantee you that's their bullshit. |

I couldn't agree more. Sorry for everyone! Suicide has to be the worse outcome a family could ever experience sans Kivorkian or a murder.

See how (at 6:30) both of them start trying to distract away from something specific to something general. They aren't comfortable with it. 1st, they lie by saying he was "doing fantastic," and, then, they start being non-specific with the "be a family...know your kids" stuff. Then, she tells Larry that She loves him, and Donny says he kissed Larry. Cherry on top of the fake sundae is when she asks for them to play the Broke Back Mountain music. This is what would also be happening with this kid. No doubt, both of them would be telling him he's doing great. If he was doing poorly(likely,) and they were distracting/denying it, then that creates a lot of isolation. Would be better off to just admit he's not doing all that great, but say that they admire him for hanging in there. She's so fake. Do you really think she's able to keep talking about a negative thing for more than like 20 seconds?

Suicide is a dreadful situation for families and friends, but denial may be wrongly interpreted as being clueless ...
The still shameful onus of mental illness and suicidal tendencies can be denied by friends and family because they do not want to believe a loved one or close one can be in this predicament... And sometimes outward signs of improvement do not tell the whole story ... A tragedy for all none the less ... |
