Best in the world? Ouija Board and Alexandrova. That said, Pride and Peeress both have a special place in my heart. They don't always win but they always give everything they've got.

the 1 hole. oh well, it probably doesn't matter much in a 1 1/2 mile race especially with his style. weather.com says 70% chance of rain on saturday and 40% on sunday. sounds like it will be soft. anybody on here know what the track has been like this week? hey, they wouldn't purposely let the grass grow high to try to make it tougher on my boy?

The official description of the ground at present is good (3.1 on the stick), with conditions considered too quick for connections of Dragon Dancer, who defected. Today, tomorrow and Sunday are forecast to be dull with drizzle.

I predict good to soft ground with no excuses for anyone, with the exception of Deep Impact, as no one knows how he will cope with what will be ground significantly slower than he has ever encountered before.

He's brilliant, as are all the illustrious members of the Big Three.

BUT, my girl Pride is a monster. I knew she'd beat HR last time out. Lest anyone forgets, she won the Prix Foy (beating out Alkaased and Shirocco), won the Prix Jean Ramanat (sp?), 2nd in the Hong Kong Cup..... she's awfully good and somewhat underated here.

Sixties Icon looked fantastic last time out, Rail Link has the Prix Neil thing going (another nice horse... next year everyone will know his name)), I just flat out like Best Name..... I refuse to focus solely on the big three when the rest are this good (well, Irish Wells shouldn't be here but the rest.....).

Love them all..... come home safe everyone.

For the record IF Deep Impact wins I'll be happy for him. I've followed him last year and this and he's breathtaking..... I just have my doubts up against this field.

Go, Pride.

don't get mad...get even.

it's me and deep impact against the world. that's ok. bring it on. actually there are about 10 million japanese pulling for him too. i think there are several deep impact fans on this board as well. okay, so it's not me and deep impact against the world.

part of the reason i want him to win is that i want to see something big, something huge, something sensational and historical. the only way that's gonna happen in this race is if deep impact wins. sure, for whoever wins this race it will be a giant accomplishment. hurricane run winning back to back arcs would be historically significant and all the others would have a claim to greatness as well. but for this race to be truly special, it's gotta be deep impact. that's what i want to see. of course he's up against it. shipping from another continent, running on softer ground than he's used to, going against the best in the world. that's what makes it such a great race. and that's what will make it so grand when he wins.
