Default International runners pointed to the BC

I thought it would be fun to keep track of who might be coming and where they're pointed to beforehand.

* * *

Debussy, of course.

Midday - to the Prix Vermeille (Sept. 12th) (or possibly to the Prix de l'Opera on Arc Day, Oct. 3rd)

Goldikova - to the Prix de la Foret on Arc day

Espoir City (winner, Japan Cup Dirt, February Stakes) to the Nambu Hai (Mile Championship and no it's not on the JRA site as it's at Morioka Racecourse), then the Classic.

Red Desire to the Flower Bowl at Belmont and then the F/M Turf.

* * *

Absolutely, positively not coming...

Sole Power (pointed to the Prix de l'Abbaye. HIs connections have said no way to the BC or HK, maybe to Dubai. They don't like the idea of sending him at age 3).

Who am I forgetting?

Makfi's being pointed at the QEII Stakes before "looking at" the BC Mile.

I'm pretty sure that Starspangled will make his way over for the sprint - in fact, I'll be shocked if he doesn't.

This would be very interesting, if it happens it will apparently be the owner's call unless Hannon has suddenly relented and has had a sudden desire to return to the BC after a long absence. Paco Boy can't beat Goldikova in Europe but could turn the tables here, before anyone thinks that is a pipedream Debussy couldn't beat Tazeez in Europe either but did the trick in the Million. It's a different ballgame over here. If it happens it makes for an interesting BC Mile.

I agree, I think Paco Boy's turn of foot will be much more advantagous over there. Strong pace is key to him, and he'll certainly get that.

I was thinking along the same lines, he has a quick burst/turn of foot, which may be more beneficial on a north american turf course. His last race was a complete throw out where Hughes had him snookered on the rail and he never had a run. The 4th, followed by a close 3rd may turn some of the NA bettors off of his form. One can hope. I agree he's always been a nice horse.
