Default great and/or obscure horses

I have a reason for asking this, so it's not some little trip down memory lane sort of thing.

If you could get videos for some of the great horses, or horses that might have been great if not cut short, of the last 20-25 years, who would you want to see?

And I don't mean horses you just were fond of because you made a big score on. These had to be really really good horses, horses that were really nice but maybe under appreciated, or horses that made a strong impression, but for whatever reason, never really panned out (or just never ran again).

An example of this would be a horse like Cees Tizzy, who was one of the fastest horses I've ever seen, but few people know about beyond his success as a stallion of a few good horses.

Yeah, I remember him very well. Was probably the only good NYbred of the entire 1980's.

Garthorn's Met Mile and Westchester. Taylor's Special's Blue Grass and Louisiana Derby. Phone Trick's San Carlos and True North.

Have you found of stash of old racing videos?

It's possible for me to get the videos down the road.

Nothing definite, but for reasons that are difficult to explain, I'd need to know requests soon.

I hope it comes to fruition.

True. Thunder Rumble won the '92 Travers. Was thinking it was like '86. I was young.

There weren't many, regardless- I had actually just looked at a bunch from that era the other day when the question of NYB's in the BC came up. Most of the pedigrees were so nondescript, any that ended up great was sheer luck. Not so these days.

Yeah, clearly things are different.

NY had a lower quality breeding program than Washington state. Also, California, Fla obviously, maybe Maryland and VA too.

I still don't think they should count horses sired by stallions standing in KY as NY breds though.

I had forgotten about Lost Mountain. Loblolly definitely had some nice horses. It was neat how Anthony named most of his horses after obscure Arkansas places.
