Vineyard Haven was fried by the pace, and could very well be fried here as well, with confirmed frontrunners Haynesfield and Friend Or Foe lining up. Girolamo ran too poorly in the BC Sprint to think that it just "wasn't his day". He looked uncomfortable throughout the race. Going on 3 years now, he has made--what?--an average of 3 starts per season. Gayego may not have the talent of those two (something that is debatable, really), but he doesn't have huge gaps in his race record and has won important races between 6f and 9f. |

Betting question here
Since the 1 and 4 are gonna be coupled as 1 and 1A,does this mean 5-9 all move up betting wise or do they keep the same spot? |

I would have thought that Gone Astray would have taken a shot against this less then stellar group. I suppose Shug likes him better going two turns? What is left in NY two turns the Queens County? There is a stallion maker

Really looking forward to the Remsen with THAS and Buffum.......hopefully it won't be sloppy as we're going to get hit with a lot of rain between tomorrow afternoon and Friday morning

There's also a maiden race for 2 year olds on Saturday that's attracted some nice pedigrees.
Darley has an entry: Storm n Indian, by Storm Cat out of Fleet Indian (badly beaten in debut) and Crossbow, by Bernardini out of GSW Forest Heiress (some very good works on tap_ There's a First Samurai out of a Pulpit mare from a very good family and a Vindication colt from a very good family as well |

An interesting renewal of the Cigar.

Anyone know why Castellano is on Haynesfield instead of Dominguez?

Something bout Haynesfield wasn't suppose to go so Dominguez got the mount of Half Metal Jacket however Asmussen is racing him. Both trainers want him but he thought it would be better to sit it out rather than make an enemy

Apparently Dominguez was committed to Half Metal Jacket for Rudy Rodriguez before he knew Haynesfield was going. In an effort to keep everyone happy, because both sets of connections wanted Ramon, his agent opted to ride no one.

stupid than the others as neither of these horses would be a major loss and if the trainers blamed Dominguez for making a living and honoring his first call than F them, but it doesn't make the other riders self-centered and egocentric for having the balls to ride their horse in that situation. It is not like it is alot of strategy with Haynesfield. Get him out front and let him run, would be nice to see FoF right on his side the whole way.
Big question is who falls back first? Haynesfield or FoF |

10/1 on Mucho Macho Man with about 10 MTP seems awfully generous.

Did anyone hear the fake clapping for a few seconds after the start of the Demoiselle?
