He was in a spill yesterday. It sounds like it's just bad bruising, but I think the doctors have said he shouldn't ride for a week or so. Unlucky for him.

I went down to Te Rapa. It was a great day, with exciting races and a massive crowd.

Ooh! Excellent. Good luck to both of them, but especially MM.
By the way, Red Ruler is running at Te Rapa this Saturday in his last race before the G1 Zabeel Classic here in Auckland on Boxing Day. The great races are so close now. 11 stakes races over the two days at Ellerslie on December 26 and January 1. |

What a brave performance. Great race by Cellarmaster as well. Red Ruler was 4th in his race. He had a huge weight and it was a distance way short of what he likes best, so he had excuses. And he finished the race really strongly. |

The Telegraph is on January 22. That'll be his next start. And I'll be flying down to see that race. I've never been to Trentham before, so that's exciting.

Confirmed!
They said at first that he would be away from racing for months - it ended up being exactly one month. He's surprised everyone with how quickly he's recovered. And he must not be a fan of standing around and doing not much. Another comeback on Boxing Day - Mark Du Plessis. Vosne Romanee and November Rain are probably the next best chances. |

Good luck Jimmy and come home safe. If he doesn't win it's fine... I'm so happy he's alright. I always root for Banchee but really do like Rememba Howe as well and she's my pick. I have no idea about anyone in the Newmarket but am hoping to see the next Wealth Princess. Red Ruler... love him to death. He never seems to win when I think he will so why don't I keep my mouth shut and cross my fingers? I do of course like the two you mentioned as well as Veloce Bella who I know just won one cause I saw the name and then forgot to ask you about the field as I'd never heard of the rest! (... and Ginga Dude!). Thrilled about Jimmy. Best news in a while. I thought we wouldn't be seeing him again. SOOOO good to be wrong. |

He's had a bit of a break after a disappointing spring. But he's resuming in the G1 Railway at Ellerslie on January 1.
In that race he's likely to be up against Katie Lee and Vonusti, plus quite a few other improving horses. |

Nice story in the newspaper today, headlined "Jimmy Choux makes full recovery."
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/racing/new...ectid=10696277 Best bits: "I think one of the great things is that Jonathan (Riddell) knows this horse so well he pulled him straight out of the Otaki race the minute he felt the horse wasn't himself," said Bary yesterday. "That meant there was no prolonged stress on the horse." "He's had a couple of very good gallops lately because we've had to know [whether to race at Ellerslie] and he's come through them terrific. "Jonathan is the best judge because he knows the horse so well and he's entirely happy with him." |

Some timed gallops from him are starting to appear, so a return to the track can't be far away for him. He's the Derby favourite at the moment at 4-1, just ahead of Lion Tamer at 6-1. |
