I don't know what you mean by this.
In the post you quoted from me I said that I thought it was "fine" that you chose not to respond. Obviously you're free to say whatever you want, but behavior has consequences. I have strongly disagreed with Antitrust dozens of times on here. I think she's a right-wing nut and I'm sure she thinks I'm a lefty lunatic, but our discussions and debates are almost always civil and reasonable. Yours aren't. Why do you think that is? |

miraj... I disagree with about 85% of everything the Republicans come up with! I think Clinton (while he had a lot of problems) was 10 times the president that GW was!
I consider myself very fiscally conservative... and I do not consider republicans to be fiscally conservative. Plus I am semi pro choice and a lesbian!! I take offense to being in the same category of Nascar and my good buddy del! with that said.. I'd much rather be called a right wing nut than a liberal any day of the week

I was just trying to make the point that we disagree a lot. I'm well aware of the vast difference between you and people like Nascar and del. You're one of my favorite people to argue with on here because since you actually THINK about things, I'm arrogant enough to believe I still have a chance of converting you on an issue or two. I'm not going to argue much with those other guys. What's the point? |

I didnt really take offense... I just wanted to be able to throw in that liberal line but yeah, I enjoy a good political debate with people on all sides of the spectrum. Sometimes you learn new things! and there are always lots of different situations that can affect your judgement. like this for example: I watched a 3 hour documentary on Reagan the other night and couldnt believe how similar he and GW Bush are. I was just a baby for the Reagan years and just listened to my Dad when it involved Reagan (my dad loves Reagan). But Star Wars!?!? what a waste of money And I had no idea the debt when from 997 billion to 2.85 trillion during those years. We went from being the largest international creditors to the largest international debtors during the 80's. Ending the cold war was a very good thing... but Gorbechev (sp?) deserves as much credit for that as Reagan. And dont let me get started on Iran-Contra.

Oh Lara? Now you know her well enough to call her by first name? Yea I'm sure she'd hate me bashing what happened including her muslim attackers and was glad to take one for the team. How ironic will it be if the new military government, as one of its first actions, outlaws protests?

Hey! Why don't you try not making it about other posters for a change? See how that goes for you. Because some of you really don't appear to like being on the receiving end of your own behaviours. It might work for ya.

All the blame is on the attackers. Oh, wow! Who would have thought anybody would think that, unless they said it!??? Crazy stuff!
The blame is not on all Egyptians. Quote:

are you kidding me? Where the F is the blame other than the US. Glad she'll be okay? I'd bet she (Lara) would want to punch you in the face! Rather than worry about bashing muslims.

Let's put this in really clear terms, Dell, so you won't continue to misunderstand and falsely represent what I think about this: The attack on Lara Logan was terrible, horrific, and her attacker should suffer five times what she did, then be tortured to death. Yes, I'm very glad she'll be okay, in that the possibilities and closeness of that call were horrible, that she was rescued by Egyptians (who were probably Muslim!) and soldiers (who were probably Muslims, too!) The attack is not representative of Egyptians, or Muslims, or Muslim Egyptians, or Christian Egyptians, or of democracy - it is representative of violent attackers. Violent attackers exist in democracy, too. The referral to Egyptians celebrating democracy by beating and rape was a despicable slam on all Egyptians. Got it now, Dell? Now, if you want to continue to talk about this, tell me what you think about this op-ed. I posted it early in the thread. It's titled, "What not to say about Lara Logan". http://www.salon.com/news/media_crit..._rape_reaction I know you will click and read the whole thing, but here is an excerpt: Quote:
