The Carmelo trade was simply theater for the masses. It had nothing to do with anything whatsoever results wise. For the Nuggets it was simply about not getting LeBroned next free agency by Melo and to get as much as possible...(see Deron Williams trade). They can't win a title with or without Melo for the short term future until they get Chris Paul.

I think its fair to say that without some bad luck this series might have gone six. Heck, it might go 6 anyway. |

I am curious to know which particular year it was where the Nuggets had the best team and Carmello didn't deliver. Were they supposed to make it past the lakers these last couple of years???? The team made it to the Western conference final and that is as far as their ability should have taken them.
What exactly were the Knicks supposed to do here in the first round? At full strength, it looked like it was going to be a pretty competitive series. Was Carmello supposed to will them past Boston? I understand some of the criticism and indeed some of it is justified but I don't see where he let the Nuggets down or choked away potential titles. |

Not that I give a damn, but you have to think that Danotini's seat is starting to get very hot.

He's going to be gone soon if they don't start winning some games. Schedule has been easy so far and they still can't win.

Great article in todays NYT on Phil Jacksons love affair with New York. It is only a matter of time and would be fitting bookends for him.

I can't see Jackson taking the job with the Knicks as the team is presently constructed. One thing Jackson did very well was choose to take jobs where he knew he would be successful. This team doesn't have a MJ and Pippen or Kobe and Shaq. It has a very bad owner. It has no draft picks and a small amount of cap space. And it has a guy who is a ball stopper as the primary focus of the offense. It has a max contract guy with bad knees who isn't moving very well. It has no point guard, no back up point guard, no depth, no defensive stopper, no scoring off the bench. The cap situation is shaky and with Chicago and Miami both looking considerably better than NY I just don't think Phil's gonna jump into a situation for this first time in his career.
