Johnny V must have thought he was on a Pletcher energizer bunny at Gulfstream there.

I wish horse racing didn't suck so bad. That race was a disgrace. It looked like part of the early double at Yavapai.

She would've found a way to quit anyway.

They're $16,000 statebred maiden claimers. That's as slow as it gets in NY.

Yeah I know that. I'm just wondering why there aren't enough decent horses in NY. That race should never be part of a late pick 4.

I disagree. Did you see where the horse she dueled with finished and where the runner up came from?

Miss Grievance is a pig, where she finished hardly vindicates Pam's Lucky Lady. PLL has done nothing but fight for the lead and quit late her whole career. I don't think you can blame Velazquez for a pop-and-stop horse popping and stopping.

They are all pigs. However you don't think where the horse who dueled with PLL finished indicates the race she ran? Interesting.

I don't blame Velazquez. He's used to riding horses like they won't get tired, because most of the time, the ones he rides don't. But I find it hard to believe the best option for both horses was to go head to head like that.

Like you said, they're all slow. It's not as if Miss Grievance figured to run a much better race than she ran. 2-1 on her was laughable.

Sometimes a horse is going to do what it's used to doing. If he wrangles her back and fights with her to let Miss Grievance go, then she gets tired from being rank, you'd complain too. Speed duels happen, it's not always the jockeys' fault. If anything, blame Maragh, he was the one who seemed more insistent on getting the lead.

Another bad race. Tired of these jockeys and their stupid games.

Which is why I said "I find it hard to believe the best option for both horses was to go head to head like that."

One more time, I'm not blaming anyone. Just discussing a race. But thanks for explaining speed duels and racing in general to me.

Stop being so touchy. Show me where I was 'explaining' anything to you. I'm discussing a race as well. It definitely seemed like you were blaming Velazquez with your first few posts, and I didn't think he did anything wrong.

Fitting end to the day. That's what I get for betting a Bruce Brown horse.

That seems like an explanation, but I'm just messing with you, so no need to get into it about this.

As I have said many times now, I'm not blaming Velazquez. Yes, the duel was because Maragh rushed up. I just don't get these guys sometimes. Did either think that was their best chance to win?

With the way PLL broke (blinkers on helped I'm sure) Velazquez had no other option but to let her run. I would have liked to see him try and ease her back a little when Maragh rushed up. Maybe he couldn't. I can accept that. But I also know riding all of the energizer bunnies he rides has made him get into a lot of duels that end up costing him wins, when that little something extra doesn't kick in when he expects it to.
