It was the best of times, it was the worst...
What was your favorite win of the weekend?
Your biggest disappointment? |

Disappointment...getting knocked out of the grand slam in the second leg even though I wouldn't have had the winner in the last leg. |

Best: actively playing against dead favorites like Turbulent Descent, Aviate, and Gio Ponti
Worst: not having the correct horses against the 3 listed above.

Best: It's Tricky, CS Silk, and Roman Ruler/Stay Thirsty
Worst: Freaking Justin Phillip and Mission Approved. Potential day-ruiners.

Best = The late Lezcano Double on Saturday.
Worst = If we can count Friday, going 3 for 4 on both Belmont Pick 4's, more importantly, the late one where I got beat by that POS Unforgettable PJ by a head at 61-1 |

Best: Ravi's Song thundering down the stretch in the Mint Julep at CD, proving in her first attempt that she can handle the turf.
Worst: Ravi's Song, missing by a nostril, finishing 2nd, needing 1 more step for the win |

Nicely written and well-deserved piece. I'm so glad you posted it or I would have missed it.

The weather might be hot, but we've got the coolest t-shirt in town. Join us this Saturday for our T-Shirt giveaway celebrating our Hometown Hero - Catlaunch! This scrappy horse has been training at River Downs since he was a 2-year-old. Last year at 10 years of age he eclipsed the $1 million mark and was crowned Ohio Horse of the Year for the third time. The t-shirt features a full-color photo of the champ who will be paraded between races on Saturday by his trainer Ivan Vazquez. To get your collector's t-shirt, purchase a live River Downs program and redeem your coupon at The Regular Guy Pub in the grandstand. Supplies are limited, gates open at 11:30 a.m. and live racing scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. http://www.riverdowns.com/ Someone alert Calzone Lord. |
